JACK AND ROSE: TOGETHER FOREVER
Chapter Ten

A Week and a Half Later
Santa Monica, CA

The next week and a half passed by in a blur and before Jack and Rose knew it, it was time to leave. The house shopping had been a success and they had managed to find a nice clean apartment to rent as long as they wanted or needed to, that had came with a bunch of furniture. And Jack had also found a job teaching art on Fridays and just teaching regular on Monday-Thursday. Rose was still looking for a job, but she knew that with Jack's salary they would survive. Now it was about 11:30 in the morning and the Dawson's had to leave.

"Jack I am really going to miss this place." Rose sighed.

"I know what you mean, but now we got to actually go home and start a new life." Jack said putting his arm around Rose and with her taking one last look around the living room. Rose smiled up at him and rested her head on his shoulder.

"Ya you are right. We have it pretty great don't we." Rose said to him. Jack just nodded. Their thoughts were interrupted by a loud obnoxious honk from the driveway.

"That must be the taxi." Jack told Rose. Rose nodded her head in agreement and bent down to pick up her couple of bags. As did Jack. They took one last look around the room and left closing the door quietly behind them.

Moving In

Rose jumped out of the taxi and ran around to grab their bags from the back while Jack paid the driver. Rose waited patiently for him to finish and wait for the cab driver left before going into the building with Jack. Right inside the door was an impressive lobby with an elevator and a set of stairs. Jack and Rose's room was on the top floor, so Jack and Rose took their bags into the elevator and started up. When the elevator reached the top, Rose and Jack stepped out to a corridor. Jack led Rose to a door to the right of the elevator. Jack put the key in the lock and opened the door. Rose looked around the apartment, there was a living room, a kitchen, and two bedrooms; one of which was a master bedroom with a bathroom. There was another bathroom and a large balcony overlooking the beach. And also down to the right of their room was the Santa Monica pier. Rose took her bags and sat them on the bed, as did Jack. They walked around their new apartment just thinking of how lucky they were. Finally Rose looked at the clock and decided that was time for lunch.

"Jack we should have some lunch."

"Ya, I was getting hungry." Rose nodded and left to explore her new kitchen. She found only some fresh bread and peanut butter.

"Jack how do peanut butter sandwiches sound? That is all we have until we go to the store." Rose called to Jack who was in the living room.

"Fine!" Jack called back. Rose went about the kitchen fixing up two sandwiches for Jack and herself. Jack surprised her by coming in and embracing her from behind and kissing her neck. Rose giggled and turned around.

"Is that ok Jack?" Rose asked him, showing him one of the plates.

"Yes." Jack responded still hugging her. Rose took Jack's hands off her waist and took the plates over to the four-person table in the kitchen. Jack sat down in one of the chairs and Rose sat down in the one next to him. They ate their lunch in silence and just enjoyed being together in their new house.

Finally Jack broke the silence and asked, "Why don't we go to the store this afternoon after lunch?"

Rose looked up from her sandwich, "OK, we need a lot of stuff thought. Do you have much money?"

"Ya, I have about ten dollars that we could use."

"Alright." Rose answered nodding her head. They ate in silence until lunch was done and than cleaned up.

"Give me ten minutes." Rose said disappearing into the bedroom. Jack watched her go and thought how lucky he was. He loved Rose so much and thought how glad he was that they were together.

When Rose came out of the room in a forest green summer dress, Jack wrapped her in his arms and said, "I love you."

Rose smiled and said, "I love you too darling."

She wrapped her arm around is waist and said, "Let's get going. We have a lot of stuff to pick up." Jack put his arm around her shoulder and picked up the key from the table. Rose smiled and they left the apartment together.
