JACK AND ROSE: TOGETHER FOREVER
Chapter Thirty

June, 1913

"Oh Dianna! It's so good to see you." Rose exclaimed as they meet the Fosters out in the driveway.

"I thought we were meeting you tomorrow!" Jack said excitedly as he helped the Fosters with their luggage.

"Well, we got in tonight and figured you wouldn't be there. So we rented a car and asked someone how to get to Pacific Ave. Then we just looked for your house number. Thank God we had a letter of your with us!" Dianna explained.

"Sorry for just dropping by like this." Bryan added.

"Oh, don't be sorry at all. It's perfectly fine." Rose said putting her arm around Dianna's shoulders and taking her inside. Jack and Bryan followed, dragging the suitcases along with them.

"Oh my lord!" Dianna gasped as she looked around the entryway. "This is the most beautiful house."

"Thank you." Rose said.

"We love it."

"Well, I'd take it any day." Bryan said coming up with Jack along side him. Everyone laughed.

"Well let's get you two settled into the guest room, and then we'll give you a tour." Rose suggested.

"Okay, sounds good. I can't wait to see the rest of this house." Dianna said. Rose led everyone down stairs to one of the bedrooms, the one with the bathroom attached to it.

"Here we are!" Rose announced pushing the door open. Dianna and Bryan looked impressed as they set their suitcases down.

"Now how about we give you the tour?" Jack asked.

"Yeah, that will be good. But if you and Rose start acting all lovey-dovey we are out of here." Dianna told Rose and Jack looking at them. Bryan snorted and started laughing. Jack and Rose gave her one of their innocent, 'Who us?' looks.

"Don't give me that either." Dianna said. Rose and Jack laughed.

"Okay, okay, now how about we get on with the tour?" Rose asked.

Bryan nodded and said, "Yes, that would be nice. I'll try to keep Dianna from making any comments." Everyone laughed again as Rose started the tour.

"And this is the balcony." Rose said opening the French doors that led out to the balcony. Everyone filed out into the balcony and looked around. Dianna gasped, the balcony overlooked the Pacific Ocean and the sun was just going down, giving the summer sky a purple and pinkish color.

"This is an amazing house." Bryan said.

"And your backyard is just a few steps away from the beach." Dianna said breathlessly.

"I know. Its wonderful." Rose said as she leaned her head against Jack's shoulder.

"Mmm, it's only eight-thirty. How about we go downstairs, I'll make some coffee, and we can talk. You know it's been about six months since we last saw each other. We need to catch up." Jack suggested.

"Oh that sounds wonderful. And we have something we need to tell you." Dianna said glancing at Bryan and smiling. Rose and Jack looked at each other wondering what Dianna and Bryan could possibly have to tell them.

"Alright then." Rose said. They all went down the stairs and into the kitchen.

"So, you guys are going to move down here?" Jack asked as they settled down on the couch a few minutes later with coffee.

"Yep, we were planning to go look at houses tomorrow. So don't be alarmed if we are gone when you get up." Bryan said.

"You said you had something to tell us." Rose said, eager to see what was going on. Dianna looked at Bryan and he nodded.

"Well," Dianna started, squeezing Bryan's hand. "Rose, Jack, how would you like to be Godparents?" Rose looked at Jack and the meaning of Dianna's words hit them.

"You mean, you're going to have a baby? You're pregnant!" Rose gasped. Dianna and Bryan nodded happily. Rose screamed and jumped from her place on the couch. She ran over and hugged Dianna tightly.

"Oh my gosh, I am so happy for you two." Rose whispered.

"You must be so happy and excited." Jack said hugging Bryan who was next to him.

"Yes we are. I can't wait for January." Dianna said dreamily. Rose, too, looked starry eyed.

"And you want us to be the Godparents?" Jack asked in disbelief. Dianna and Bryan nodded.

"Oh we would be honored to." Rose said sitting down next to Dianna.

"So what do you want a boy or a girl?" She asked.

"I don't care as long as it's healthy." She said giving Rose a knowing look. Rose nodded.

"Have you guys thought about names." Jack asked.

"Not really. We still have a while, but we'll let you know when we decide." Bryan said.

"I have always liked the name Grace." Dianna said.

"Oh, that's pretty." Rose exclaimed.

"I like the same Sarah." Bryan said, joining into the conversation.

"What about you Jack?" Rose asked of her husband.

Jack shrugged, "I don't know. I have always liked the name Jillian."

"Mmm me too." Rose said.

"I also like the name Margaret." Dianna said.

"I know. It's kind of old fashioned, but it never gets old. I love it." Rose said nodding. They spent the rest of the night talking about names and other baby things. They were in the middle of talking about the cutest baby clothes, when Jack realized that Rose had been awfully quite. He suddenly felt something hit his shoulder. Rose, who had moved over next to him a little while ago, was fast asleep. Jack laughed a little.

"Bryan, Dianna." He said motioning toward Rose.

"Oh..." Dianna said laughing.

"Well if you don't mind I am going to take her upstairs and put her to bad. Goodnight Dianna. Goodnight Bryan, help yourselves to anything you want. See you in the morning." Jack said. He got up from the couch and Rose's head fell onto the cushions. Everyone laughed softly again.

"Rose, Rose. Come on wake up." Jack whispered crouching down to her level.

"Rose…" He said gently nudging her shoulder. Rose moaned, rolled over, and fell right back asleep. Dianna put her hand up to her mouth to prevent anymore laughing. Jack looked over at the Fosters and rolled his eyes, then he turned back to Rose and slipped one of his arms under Rose's knees and the other around her shoulders.

"Night guys." Jack said as he left the room carrying a still sleeping Rose.

"You never pick me up like that." Dianna said giving Bryan a little slap.

"Oh you want me to pick you up?" He asked playfully.

"Yes!" Dianna said.

"Okay then." Bryan said picking her up like Jack picked Rose up. Then he pretended to throw her. Dianna shrieked.

"Bryan, no!"

"Shh, you'll wake Rose up." "Not if you take me down stairs." Dianna hinted. Bryan smiled and left the room with Dianna in his arms.

"Okay Rosebud." Jack said laying Rose on top of the bed. He went into the bathroom and got her summer nightgown from the floor.

"Okay Rose. Rose, I have your nightgown." Jack whispered walking over to her. She remained fast asleep.

"Rose, come on. After you get this on you can go right back to sleep." Jack said, shaking her gently this time.

"Mmm." Rose moaned, but she sat up. With her eyes closed she began to wiggle out of her dress. Jack slipped the nightgown over her head and buttoned it up for her. He pulled the covers back and gently laid her back down, covering her with the comforter and sheet.

Rose yawned and mumbled, "Thank you Jack." Within a few seconds she was fast asleep. He kissed her gently on the forehead and then stood up, he threw his shirt in the corner of the room. After turning the light off, Jack climbed into bed and wrapped his arms around Rose, who was facing the other way. He barred his head in her hair and thought about Dianna and Bryan. He was so happy for them, to be having a child. He opened his eyes and looked at Rose's red hair. 'What would a child of ours look like?' He wondered. Suddenly Rose rolled over and faced Jack so her face was right next to his.

"Rose?" Jack whispered. She didn't respond. He kissed her gently again, wrapped his arms tighter around her, and closed his eyes.

"What would a child of our look like?" He mumbled to himself before slipping into sleep.
