JACK AND ROSE: TOGETHER FOREVER
Chapter Thirty-Two

"God, what are you doing up so early?" Rose asked as she came down the stairs and into the kitchen to find Dianna wide-awake munching on some toast.

"Hello," Dianna answered simply.

"And I might ask why you are up this early as well."

Rose shrugged, "I woke up and couldn't get back to sleep."

"Same here," Dianna said sipping her coffee. Rose grabbed her coffee and sat across from Dianna.

"God that dinner last night was so much fun," Dianna remarked. Rose nodded and smiled.

"You and Jennifer seamed to get along wonderfully."

Dianna nodded in agreement, "She is so nice and funny and sweet. I can't wait to move down here. And just think, we are all going to live on the same street."

Rose smiled, "I know, I am so glad you bought that house. This is going to be wonderful. Now are children will grow up next to each other." Dianna smiled back at Rose and then got a far away look in her eye.

"Dianna," Rose half said, half asked. Dianna didn't reply.

"Dianna," Still no answer. 'Okay,' Rose thought. She walked over and sat down next to Dianna. "Dianna!" Rose shouted snapping her fingers in front of Dianna's eyes.

Dianna jumped, "What?" She asked.

"What are you thinking about." Rose questioned. Dianna looked at Rose and smiled.

"Me, Bryan, the baby. I don't know. Everything." Rose smiled, reached over, and put her hand on Dianna's nightgown covered stomach.

"I can't believe you are having a baby." Rose whispered.

Dianna shook her head, "I know, its still weird to me. I mean, there is a new life inside of me. It's wonderful and scary at the same time."

Rose nodded, "Why is it scary. I think it would be all wonderful." She questioned.

Dianna bit her lip, "I am afraid that if I eat something wrong or do something wrong I will hurt it. Plus I am afraid to actually have the baby." Rose took her friends hand and looked at her.

"Dianna, I don't really know what you are going through, yet. But I think you have to remember, you are made for it. And God wouldn't have made women able to have children if they weren't made for it and if it wasn't rewarding." Dianna looked at her friend sitting next to her.

"You are right Rose." She whispered. Rose nodded. "And Rose?"

"Yes," Rose answered.

"Will you be there with me? Please, I need someone like you there. Bryan will be there, but he isn't the best advice giver. And I think he is more nervous then me. Ever since I told him, he has been walking on eggshells around me."

Rose smiled at her friend and laughed, "Oh course I'll be there. But, only if you are there for me. When the time comes of course."

"Okay, I promise." Dianna said smiling brightly. Rose reached over and hugged her friend.

"I promise too," she whispered. Dianna smiled as she pulled away.

"Thank you Rose. You are such a wonderful friend. First helping me with the loss of the baby thing and now this. I owe you so much." "Dianna, you don't owe me a thing. And I mean that. But come on, enough of this mushy stuff. Those husbands of ours are going to wake up soon and want breakfast. Let's say we make them a plate of hot pancakes and eggs." Rose suggested as she stood up. Dianna stood up along with her and smiled.

"Yes, they are going to be hungry. Especially Jack, considering what you probably did the last few nights after everyone else went to sleep." She said with a lot of her old fire coming back. Rose bit her lip, blushed, and looked down at the floor. Dianna started laughing hysterically and Rose hit her on the arm.

"Ow, that hurt." Dianna said still laughing.

"Sorry, wasn't me," Rose replied and then started laughing even harder.

Dianna gave her a weird look, "What's so funny?" She asked.

Rose shook her head and laughed again, "Ask Jack about the 'wasn't me' phrase." She suggested.

"Okay," Dianna said. She walked into the front hallway and stood at the foot of the stairs. Rose followed close behind.

"Jack.." Dianna started yelling before Rose clamped her hand over Dianna's mouth.

"I didn't mean now Di." Rose hissed.

Dianna pried Rose's hand off and smiled at her, "Sorry wasn't me," She said innocently. Both women started laughing and had to sit down at the edge of the stairs. Rose leaned against Dianna and squeezed her eyes shut, fighting back tears because she was laughing so hard.

Once they had both calmed down, Dianna suggested, "How about we go make that breakfast now. You know that Jack's going to be hungry," Rose hit her again, stood up, and walked laughing her head off with Dianna right behind her.

Jack came tiredly down the stairs. Yawning as he went. We wondered into the kitchen and found Rose standing next to a cooking pan of pancakes. Rose turned her head to the sound of Jack entering.

"Well good morning," She said. Jack nodded and walked over to get some coffee.

"Don't I even get a good morning?" Rose asked, pretending to be hurt. Jack smiled and walked over. He kissed her passionately on the mouth.

"Mmm, that's more like it," Rose whispered.

"Mmm, good morning Rose. How did you sleep?" Jack asked as he set down his coffee and took Rose into his arms.

Rose kissed him again, "Fine, once we did get to sleep." She teased. "What about you?"

Jack smiled, "Wonderfully. You know, I had this dream in the middle of the night that a beautiful women was sleeping in my arms and I woke up and saw your wonderful face inches from mine. It was heaven."

Rose giggled softly, "I think I had the same dream Jack. Only, the person whose arms around me was you." Jack smiled back at Rose and kissed her once again. Unfortunately, Dianna had come back from using the bathroom and was standing right behind them. Jack and Rose had just innocently set them selves up for one of Dianna's jokes. She just stood their watching them kiss for a few minutes before interrupting.

"Anytime this year guys," Jack and Rose broke apart and looked at Dianna standing there.

"You know, you really should be more careful about hiding this stuff. I mean, if you have kids and they see you do this, what are they going to think? Now am I going to have to give you two a lecture like Rose gave us the other night?"

Rose blushed and Jack looked at Dianna, "I think you can spare us the lecture Di." He said.

Dianna shrugged, "All right, but if I catch you at this again. I am going to have to take drastic measures. Now Jack, I need to ask you something," Jack nodded, encouraging her to go on. "Rose said I should ask you about a certain 'wasn't me' line she has. Wanna tell me what this is all about?" Dianna asked her arms folded. Rose started laughing and Jack shook his head in laughter. He walked over to Dianna and pointed to Rose.

"Now," He started. "I have a wife who pretends she innocent all the time. If she does something bad or not-so-innocent, that's what she'll say." Jack explained while Rose put on her innocent face.

Dianna started laughing again, "Oh god Rose. I can see you doing that."

"Who me?" Rose asked innocently and everyone started laughing even harder.

"What's going on?" A voice came from the downstairs stairwell. Bryan was standing there a puzzled look on his face. Dianna laughed again and explained to her husband about Rose. He too started laughing as he approached the kitchen where they all were.

"Rose, Rose, Rose," he was saying. Rose, again, put on her innocent act.

Putting her hand up to her chest she said, "What did I do?" That made everyone start laughing hysterically all over again.

"You, you sure you want to move down here?" Jack asked through his laugher.

Dianna and Bryan smiled and Dianna replied, "Absolutely."
