JACK AND ROSE: TOGETHER FOREVER
Chapter Thirty-Six

Rose and Jack both sat un-packing their clothing and various items. Rose, by now, had gotten pretty used to the gentle moving of the ship and her nervousness was starting to subside. As she continued to go through her clothes, Rose came across her wedding dress that laid folded up nicely in her suitcase. Jack had asked her to bring the dress along and when she had asked why, Jack had just told her that she would find out when they got to Paris. Rose could not even imagine what Jack had planned and was going crazy wondering what his plan might be. Standing up, Rose held the delicate dress to her body. She gently swayed back and forth, humming to herself and studying the dress. When Jack noticed her doing this, he too stood up and he came over. Putting his arms around her from the back, Jack kissed her neck.

Rose moaned softly, "Jack will you please just tell me what this is for?" she asked indicating the dress.

Jack placed his chin on her shoulder, "Sorry Rosie. I can't tell you. Stop worrying about it sweetheart." He whispered this in her ear, sending shivers down her body. Rose smiled and stepped out of Jack's embrace. She grabbed a hanger and hung the dress up. When she had done this, she crossed back to Jack and he wrapped his arms around her again and kissed her softly. As he moved down to her neck, Rose realized what he was silently asking.

"Jack," she said, "Jack stop." Jack brought his head up, confused.

"What is it?" he asked.

"Jack, I want this. But darling we have to finish unpacking and I am much to tired. I wouldn't be good to you." Rose explained.

Jack held her closer, "Rose you are always good to me, Don't ever think you aren't. But I understand."

"Thank you Jack," Rose whispered. "Now, why don't we finish our un-packing and head for bed. We have a big day tomorrow. We have to explore this ship. And tomorrow night Jack."

"Rose stop," Jack interrupted. "If you talk about this anymore I won't be able to finish my un-packing."

Rose laughed, "Well, lets get started then. We need to talk later." Jack nodded and unhooked himself from Rose.

"Thanks Jack," Rose whispered kissing him again.

Jack smiled, "What happened to the un-packing idea Mrs. Dawson?"

Rose laughed again, "I am goin', I am goin'" She sat down next to her suitcase and returned to her un-packing. Jack smiled and walked over to his own suitcase. Rose began going through the rest of her clothes. She grinned when she got to the bottom of one of the suitcases. Lying there were the two garments she had not wanted Brett to see. Rose first pulled out her black nightgown she had bought a few years ago with Jack. She hung that up in the closet and then returned to the suitcase. At the bottom of the bag was the undergarment she had bought yesterday when she and Brittany had gone shopping and out to lunch. Rose gently pulled the garment up high enough for her to see it, but so Jack couldn't. It was something the store manager had said that ladies were starting to where instead of corsets, a brassiere. Rose looked at the 'bra' again. It was way more comfortable then a corset and it commented her figure much better. She knew this because she and Brittany had tried them on before deciding to by the new product. Rose, of course, new Jack wouldn't mind what she had bought. 'Hmmm, somebody's gonna be surprised tomorrow night,' she thought before laughing hysterically out loud as she though of Jack's reaction.

Jack turned his head, "What's so funny?" Rose grinned and bit her lip.

"Nothing, just thinking," she replied, "Are you done un-packing?"

Jack nodded, "Yeah, just finished."

"Okay, let me put this away," Rose said, shoving the bra into her underwear drawer before Jack could see. She then glanced at the clock; it was just after eight-thirty.

"Jack, I am going to get ready for bed and then we need to talk."

"Okay," Jack replied. Rose grabbed her summer nightgown from the closed and undressed herself, slipping the gown over her exhausted body. She locked the cabin door while Jack got undressed and turned off the lights. Jack and Rose climbed into bed, exhausted from the day. Jack took Rose into his arms and they snuggled up against each other.

"Jack, we need to talk," Rose said caressing his face.

"About what?" Jack asked taking Rose's hand and gently rubbing it with his thumb.

"Jack, I have been thinking. And well, when we get back from Paris, I well…Jack I want to try to get pregnant. I think it's time Jack." Rose watched as Jack looked at her.

"Rose," Jack started before kissing her forehead, "Rose, I want this too."

"You're sure Jack?" Rose questioned. "Absolutely," Jack whispered.

"I want us to have kids Rosebud. Something we have that no one else has, our kids. Kids that we made out of love." Rose's eyes filled with tears as she heard Jack tell her all of this.

"Oh Jack, you've made me so happy," she whispered kissing Jack.

"I love you," Jack whispered into her hair. Rose snuggled closer to Jack, who was lying on his side.

"I love you too," she murmured into the crock of his neck.

"Are you going to go to sleep now?" Jack asked.

He felt Rose nod, "Good night Jack darling."

Jack kissed her once again, "Good night Rose. See you in the morning." Jack watched in the dim light as Rose's mouth formed into a content smile and she closed her eyes. Jack closed his eyes and tried to fall back asleep.

"Jack, can we can get a dog?" Rose suddenly asked, cutting into the silence.

Jack opened his eyes and looked at her, "What?" he asked.

"I want to get a dog. Mother never let me have a dog. And I love animals, some anyway. Can we please?"

Jack laughed, "Yeah, we can get a dog. I never knew you wanted one. And what brought this up anyway?"

He felt Rose shrug, "I don’t know. I was just thinking."

Jack laughed again, "Yeah, we'll get one as soon as we get home, all right?"

"Okay Jack," Rose whispered. "Night."

"Good night Rose." Jack lay awake for a few more minutes thinking about this trip. He doubted very much if Rose was still very nervous about this ship voyage. They would make it through this. And Jack knew if they had each other, they could make it through anything.
