JACK AND ROSE: TOGETHER FOREVER
Chapter Thirty-Seven

"Rose, put that book down and come on a walk with me," Jack said entering the bedroom where Rose was sprawled across the bed reading a novel.

"Jack, I want to finish reading this," Rose replied, her nose still in her book.

Jack came over, slightly annoyed, and pulled the book out of her hands. "What are you reading anyway?" he asked looking over the book.

"A romance novel," Rose said looking down sheepishly.

Jack chuckled, "Rose c'mon, you can finish this later. Honey, you have barely left the cabin all day. Don't you want to go for a walk with me and explore this ship a little."

Rose nodded, "Yeah, all right. I'll go, I do fell a bit lazy."

Jack smiled and pulled her up. "Come on, we have just enough time to explore the boat deck before dinner."

Rose smiled before taking Jack's hand. They left the cabin and walked silently up to the boat deck, happy to just be together. Once outside, Rose breathed in the salty air. It was only their second day at sea, but the weather already looked as if it would be nice all week. Rose leaned against Jack as they strolled along.

"See Rosie, doesn't it feel good to get out of that cabin?"

"Yes, actually, I am glad you made me come. It's so pretty out here," Rose said nodding. "Plus you are much more romantic then that guy Roberto in that book I am reading." Rose remarked as Jack smoothed her hair, held her hand stronger, and pulled her closer.

Jack laughed, "Oh really?"

"Yeah," Rose said smiling. "You're much more cute too."

Jack laughed again. "Rose, you're the one who is acting all romantic," he whispered in her ear as they stopped by the rail. Jack took Rose into his arms and she rested her chin on his shoulder as Jack rocked them both back and forth.

"Oh, you think this is romantic? Just wait till tonight," Rose whispered.

Jack raised his eyebrows, "Should I be excited or scared Rose?"

Rose closed her eyes and led Jack rock her gently back and forth. "Mmm, excited," Rose said. "And be ready for a surprise."

"Hmmm, I like surprises Rose. Especially from you."

Rose laughed, "Mmm, I am sure you do."

This time, it was Jack who laughed.

Rose pulled away and grinned at him before turning to look at the ocean. Jack came up behind her. "It's so beautiful," Rose whispered, placing her hands over Jack's, that were on her waist.

"Mmm, I know," Jack whispered in her ear. They stood looking out at the ocean for a few more minutes before a bugle started going off, sounding dinner. "I guess we had better go in," Jack said after a minute.

"Why don't we just go back to our cabin and skip dinner," Rose suggested as they started walking back.

"Rose, we need to eat. We need energy don't we?" Jack asked.

Rose looked at him and then burst out laughing. "Guess so," Rose said. "I need all the energy I can get if you're anything like I think you'll be."

Jack stopped and looked at Rose. She started laughing and then started running down the deck. "Rose!" Jack called after her. Rose stopped and waved before running down some more. Jack started laughing and chased after her.

Rose and Jack walked hand and hand to their cabin, still giddy from dinner. Both were laughing and were stuffed with food. They had met another young couple at dinner, Marianne and Brendan Roberts. They reminded Rose a lot of Dianna and Bryan.

"We should dine with Roberts tomorrow," Rose said as they approached their cabin. Jack nodded as he placed the key in the lock and pushed open the door.

"I like them a lot," Jack said as they walked into the room.

"Me too," Rose agreed turning on a few lamps, giving the room a romantic glow while Jack closed the door and locked it. Rose then walked over to Jack, who was taking his dress coat off, and kissed him gently on the check. "Jack, let's not talk about that now," Rose suggested turning Jack around to face her.

Jack grinned, "You're right Rosebud," he said kissing her neck.

"Jack, I love it when you call me Rosebud, and sweetheart, and all those pet names." Rose whispered. "Just don't ever call me sweetpea."

Jack stopped kissing her and brought his head up. "I won't, I promise. I don't like that anyway."

Rose grinned and kissed him gently on the lips. "I am going to go get you're surprise. I'll be back in a minute," Rose whispered after the kiss.

Jack nodded and watched her leave into the bathroom.

Rose grinned when she got into the bathroom and got her stuff from its hiding place under the sink. She undressed herself and put the bra on. Then she put her black nightgown over her bra and panties. Rose smiled and took her hair out of the upsweep it was in. Her red curls cascaded down her back and she smiled to herself as she looked into the mirror. "Get ready Mr. Dawson," she said out load. Rose opened the door and found Jack waiting in the bedroom. He had turned out all the lights except for one sitting on the nightstand by the big bed. Jack wasn't facing her so she came up behind him and started kissing his neck. He groaned and turned around.

"Where's my surprise?" he asked playfully.

Rose tilted her head and grinned. "Just be patient," she whispered before kissing him on the lips again. Jack moved his lips down her neck and Rose attacked his shirt buttons. She pulled the shirt off of him and moaned as he kissed her neck more passionately. He then started slipping the gown straps down. The dress fell to the floor and Rose moved away from Jack to step out of it. It was now that he noticed her bra.

"What is that?" Jack gasped in surprise.

Rose giggled. "Surprise," she smiled. "It's called a bra. Ladies are starting wearing them instead of corsets."

Jack pulled her close and kissed her passionately. "You look wonderful," he whispered before lowing her to the bed.

Rose groaned as he kissed her neck and moved over her. "Take me to the stars Jack," she whispered in his ear.

Jack brought his head up, smiled, and turned off the light. He pressed his mouth against Rose's. A groan escaped his mouth as Rose deepened the kiss. So safe in the stars, back on a ship, is where Rose and Jack spent their night.
