JACK AND ROSE: TOGETHER FOREVER
Chapter Four
The next morning, Rose awoke to the sound of
rain. She opened her eyes and saw rain falling down in sheets out side her
window.
'Oh great' she thought. 'We are leaving for
Santa Monica today, I do hope the rain lightens up a bit.' She rolled over and
saw Jack still asleep, his blond hair in his eyes. She scooted over closer to
him and brushed the hair out of his eyes so she could see him. Rose just laid
there watching him for a while before she finally looked at the clock and saw
that it was 12:30pm. There're train leaved at 2:45, and they still had to pack
up the rest of their things, and get it to the station on time! Rose looked at
her Jack, she hated to wake him, he looked so peaceful. And she knew that he
was tired. But they had to get a train. She reached over and ran her
pointer-finger up and down in-between Jacks eyebrows. As she did this she said
"Wake up, Wake up." Like a little kid. She laughed when he tried to
brush it away. She continued to do this until Jack figured out was going on. He
slowly opened his eyes, and Rose smiled at him.
"Hello sweetie, did you sleep OK?"
Jack nodded, as he was not awake yet, and pulled her in for a kiss. When the
kiss ended, which was not very soon, Rose told Jack what time it was. Jack
leaped out of bed at the sound of the time, almost knocking Rose over. Rose
laughed as she watched him run around the bedroom getting dressed and gathering
his stuff. She had done most of her packing before she left for Brittany's on
Thursday. All she had to do now was gather up her personal stuff, her wedding
clothes, and her nightclothes. Plus she had to put some clothes on. She didn't
think that the people at the train station would appreciate that, not to
mention everyone in New York City. Rose just laid in bed well Jack did his
stuff. When he was done, he brought her bathrobe over, sat on the bed, and put
it around her shoulders. Rose smiled at Jack and rapped the bathrobe all the
way around herself. She got out of bed and pulled Jack up with her. Rose than
kissed him passionately.
"Oh Jack I had a great time last
night." Rose told him after the kiss ended.
"Me too Rose. And just think now we are
married. I am so happy I could dance." And with that Jack grabbed Rose's
hand and started guiding her around the room, down the hall, and all through
the house. Rose laughed and closed her eyes, just letting Jack lead her. Before
long both of them we laughing so hard that they could barely stand it, and they
collapsed on a heap on the couch.
"Man, you really wear me out Jack."
Rose told Jack pretending to be really tiered and annoyed. Jack just laughed
and kissed Rose.
"But seriously Rose, if we want to get
to the station on time, we'd better hurry." Jack said to her. Rose nodded
and got off the couch and pulled Jack off too.
"Let's get to it." She said and
they left to pack up the rest of there stuff.
"I am really going to miss this
place." Rose said sorrowfully about an hour and a half later.
"I know what you mean, we have a lot of
good memories here." Jack said, a hint of sorrow in his voice.
"But think how lucky we are to get to go
to Santa Monica." Rose looked at him, this was the Jack that she loved. He
was always so optimistic.
"Ya, I guess we are." Rose told him
after a minute. Jack looked at his wristwatch, which was his wedding present
from Rose. "Well we'd better get going, it's already 2:00." Rose
nodded and looked one last time around the apartment. Jack did to, he was going
to miss this apartment. He took Rose by the hand and they left.
Once they were outside, Jack hailed a cab.
Once he was there, the cab driver took their stuff and put it in the trunk. Than
Rose and Jack climbed in.
"Can you take us to the train station
please?" Jack asked the cab driver once he was in the car.
"I sure can." The driver told him
and started to drive off. Rose leaned on Jack. She couldn't wait to get to
Santa Monica. It sounded so fun and awesome from what Jack was telling her.
Jack looked down at Rose; she looked deep in thought. Her new ring was on her
finger. He watched her fiddle with her necklace. He had given it to her for a
wedding present. It was a gold-chained one with three little rings on the
chain. The rings had different colored diamonds around each of them. Jack had
bought it with the some of the money they had found in Cal's coat. The rest had
gone to food, wedding stuff, clothes, and ticket money to Santa Monica. Plus a
little extra for other stuff. They had found over $2,000 in the coat pockets,
plus the Heart of the Ocean, so they didn't have to work till they got to Santa
Monica. Jack looked outside; it was still raining hard. He hoped it would clear
up when they went out-west. Jack looked down at Rose again; he caught her
looking at him. Rose blushed and put her head on Jack's shoulder. Jack put his
arm around her, and together they watched New York pass by them.
