JACK AND ROSE: TOGETHER FOREVER
Chapter Five

On the Train to Santa Monica

"Let's see, our room is #21 B." Jack told Rose once they were on the train. Rose was still sad about saying good-bye to her friends at the station, so she barely heard him. "Rose. Rose are you listening?" Jack asked her.

"What. Oh no sorry. What did you say?" Jack rolled his eyes.

"Our room number is #21B. Now you look on the left side and I will look on the right." Rose nodded and started looking at the numbers on the doors. Saying them in her head as she passed by. Rose and Jack had a second class room on the large passenger train that was going to take them to Santa Monica. Rose continued to look on the numbers on the doors. Finally she found the door.

"Jack I found the door." Rose told him. Jack caught up with her and handed her the key. Rose smiled at him and put the key in the keyhole. Jack pushed the door open with his foot and looked around. It was an almost medium-sized room. There was one middle-sized bed to the right, and a door the bathroom on the left. Their bags were already in there because a teen-age boy had taken them to the room for them. Rose stepped in soon after Jack. She saw the bed and run and flopped down on it. Jack laughed and followed her, but he did not flop, he just laid down. "Oh Jack I am so tried. Let's take a nap until dinner." Rose said to him. Jack nodded at her. He was tired too. Staying up all night and than getting up at a fifteen till one was not the best thing to do. Jack closed his eyes and felt Rose scoot closer to him. He put his arm around her and was soon fast asleep.

Rose opened her eyes. The first thing she saw was Jack's beautiful face. He was still asleep. 'He must be really tried.' Rose thought. The train had started moving by now and the motion made her want to fall back asleep. She rolled over and looked at the clock. It was about 5:30. The man who had checked there tickets had said that dinner was at 6:00. 'We'd better get moving if we want to get there on time.' Rose thought. She rolled back over to wake Jack up.

"Jack. Jack honey its 5:30, we have to get up." Rose said as she shook him. Jack moaned and rolled over. Rose blew on the back of his neck until he finally sat up rubbing his eyes.

"You never let me sleep mummy." Jack playfully said.

Rose pretended to pout, "Oh you poor baby." She said rolling her eyes. "Come on, dinner is a half hour. We have to go if we want to make it to dinner on time." Jack got out of bed and walked over to his bag. While he got changed, Rose got her new lavender dress on. She decided to leave her hair down because she knew this is how Jack loved her hair. When she had turned around Jack was already dressed, ready to go. He walked over and took her arm. She pretended to stick her nose in the air. Jack laughed and opened the door. They walked down the hall to the dining car. When they go there, Rose and Jack opened the door to find a nicely lit room, with a lot of eating space. A waiter showed up and led them to a table that was looking out side. Jack pulled Rose's chair out and she sat down, than Jack sat down across from Rose.

"May I bring you anything to start out with?" The waiter asked Rose and Jack.

"Ah yes how about some wine." Jack told him. The waiter mumbled something and walked away, and after a few minutes he returned with a bottle of red wine. Jack and Rose said their thank yous and the waiter left saying he would be back in a few minutes to take their order. Rose and Jack looked at their menus and decided on the Chicken Noodle Soup for Rose and the French dip for Jack. The waiter came and took their orders and left. Jack smiled at Rose who was looking at her simple, but beautiful ring, with great interest like she could not believe she was actually married to Jack.

"Rose."

"Yes Jack." Rose said looking up.

"I love you."

"Oh Jack, I love you too honey." Rose told him. Jack smiled at her.

"Rose how do fell about going to Santa Monica?" Jack asked her.

"Jack I absolutely love the idea. But I have a question, what are we going to do for work. We can't live off of Cal's money. I mean there is enough to get us an apartment for a month, but after that what are we going to do?" Rose questioned back.

"Well, I thought I would try to find a job teaching art. You know my mother was a teacher, and she got her degree when I was about 12. So I remember a lot of what she learned in order to get the degree. I would help her study a lot. Besides, we aren't going to by a house or apartment or whatever as soon as we get there. I thought we would spend a little time, about three weeks, at a certain beach house I rented."

"Oh Jack that is wonderful, I didn't know your mother was a teacher. And the beach house thing sounds great." Rose told him.

"Well Rose you are forgetting that I have only known you for not even a month," Jack said going back to the teacher idea. "I mean, let's see we met on April 12 1912 and it's only May 4th, I mean come-on." Rose laughed at Jack's statement. It was true, they had only know each other for a few weeks. When their food finally got there, Rose and Jack stopped talking to eat. They spent about an hour in the dinning room before deciding to retire to the room.

"Well that was a excellent dinner Jack. I just love Chicken Noodle Soup. It reminds me of when I was little and my father would bring it to me I when I was sick." Rose told Jack on the way back to their room.

"Ya, I know what you mean, my mom use to do that to me too." Jack told her. Rose took Jacks hand in her own and laid her head on his shoulder. This is how she liked to be when she walked with Jack. "Rose?"

"Hmm." Rose answered back.

"What do you think we will be doing in ten years?"

Rose picked her head up and looked at Jack. "I think we will be on a wedding anniversary trip, and when we return we will arrive to a nice maybe big house with kids. Maybe." Rose said. Jack laughed at her last statement. He hadn't even thought about kids. He could see that Rose was blushing, so he leaned down and gave her a kiss. "Jack, let's go back to the room." Rose said suggestively.

"Rose we are going back." Jack teased back.

"Jack you know what I mean." Rose said to Jack, and they walked back to the room in silence.

"OK Jack wait right there and I'll be right out. Oh ya and turn around." Rose said to Jack as soon as they got back to the room. Jack turned and heard Rose go into the small bathroom. He wondered what she was going to do to him now. She had so many things up her sleeve, he could never be sure what she was going to do next. Suddenly he felt a pair of lips on his neck.

"Oh Jack. Turn around darling." Jack did as he was told and found Rose in a breathtaking green with red roses nightgown.

"Rose where did you get this? Is it new?" Jack asked.

"Well Jack I was going to wear it last night. But you were too much in a hurry." Rose told him.

"Well it seams to me Mrs. Dawson that you were the one who started kissing me." Rose giggled.

"Oh I forget that detail." Rose said moving closer to Jack. Jack wrapped his arms around Rose.

"Well I didn't" Jack said and kissed Rose. After the kiss Rose moved over to the window and looked out.

"Jack the stars are quite nice looking tonight." Rose said smiling. "I think we have somewhere to go."

"You know Rose I think so to." Jack told her. Rose moved back over to Jack and kissed him.

"Let's go the stars Jack." Rose whispered. And Jack lowered her onto the bed.
