JACK AND ROSE: TOGETHER FOREVER
Chapter Six
"Rose, Rose wake up honey. Its time for
breakfast." Jack said to Rose the next morning trying to get her up.
"Rose its 7:30, if you don't get up
we'll miss breakfast." Jack said again shaking her. Rose slowly opened her
eyes, she saw Jack sitting next to her on the bed already dressed.
"What?" Rose groggily asked. Jack
laughed at her.
"Honey its almost time for
breakfast." He said.
"What time is it?" Rose asked,
clearer this time.
"7:30 and breakfast is in a half
hour." Jack replied.
"OK I'll get up." Rose said and
climbed out of bed. She walked over to her bad and opened it. She selected a
yellow and baby blue spring dress to wear. She put on her corset and Jack tied
the back for her. Than she slipped the dress over her head and zipped up the
back. Last she pulled on her stockings and slipped on her shoes. "Alright
Jack, I am ready to go." She said turning around.
"Rose you look more beautiful
everyday." Jack said.
"I am only as beautiful as my handsome
husband makes me." Rose through back Jack blushed at her comment.
"Let's go." Rose said laughing at
Jacks face.
When they returned from breakfast Rose went
and looked out the window. She had overheard someone say that they were passing
through a gorgeous part of the country. Well the person, whoever that might be,
was certainly right. Outside there was a lot of fields with rows and rows of
crops and flowers.
"Jack come over here, see how beautiful
the country is." Jack came and sat down beside Rose.
"I think we are in Nebraska Rose. That
means we'll probably get to Santa Monica tonight or tomorrow morning." He
told her.
"Oh Jack I am so excited. I know I am
going to love Santa Monica."
"I know you will too." Jack said
squeezing her hand and than kissing it.
Rose put her head on Jacks shoulder,
"Jack what is the scenery like in Santa Monica?" she asked.
"Well the beaches are beautiful and the
sunsets to die for. And the pier is fun and bright and you will never want to
leave it." Jack told her. Rose thought about that, it sounded wonderful
and the fact that Jack was going to be there with her made it sound like
paradise. She couldn't wait to get there.
"I love you Jack." She whispered
closing her eyes.
"I love you to my daring Rose."
Jack told her putting his arm around her shoulders and leaned his head on hers.
The Next Morning
"Now approaching Santa Monica
California. All passengers leaving please be ready within ten minutes. Thank
you." Rose and Jack looked at the load speaker in their room.
"Well I guess we are here." Jack said.
Rose smiled at him; this was it they were finally going to be home. They had
gotten up early that morning so that they could be ready when they got to Santa
Monica. Now they were here and Rose was really excited. Finally she would get
to see the place she and Jack had talked about sense they first met.
"Jack, do you have all your stuff
packed? All mine is." Rose asked.
"Yep, lets put all this stuff
together." Jack told her. They each got their bags and put them together.
Rose poked her head out the door, all around people were trying to get to there
room and back their families.
"Jack it's a madhouse out there, we
should probably wait for a few minutes for the people to clear out." Rose
said sticking her head back inside the room.
Jack stuck his head outside the room and
said, "Ya you are probably right." So they waited a few more minutes
before gathering up their four bags and leaving the room. Jack and Rose walked
down the hall to the exit door. After waiting in line for about three minutes,
it was Rose and Jacks turn to depart from the train. Rose jumped down and Jack
handed her the bags. Than he jumped down after the bags. 'Welcome To Santa
Monica!' a sign said just outside the train station. Rose smiled at it.
"OK Rose, lets get going." Jack said.
He picked up the two bags that were his and motioned for Rose to pick up hers.
She did and followed Jack out of the train station.
"Jack where are we going?" Rose
asked as they stood on the street waiting for something.
"We are waiting for a cab and than we
are going to the beach house." Jack said. Just than a cab arrived and Rose
and Jack climbed in.
"Where to you two?" the cab driver
asked. It was all Rose could do to keep from laughing.
"Ah," Jack took a piece of paper of
his pocket. "176 Santa Monica Pier Drive." Jack told him. Rose could
see the amusement in Jacks eyes on the 'where to' thing.
"Sounds familiar." Rose told Jack,
and he just chuckled and rolled his eyes. Rose looked out side the area was
becoming to look more like a beach the farther they went. Suddenly Rose saw
something in the distance, "Look, Jack there's the pier!" Rose said
pointing out the window. "Wow! Its looks the same why did when I was
here." Jack told Rose who was eagerly looking out the window. Just than
Rose noticed that the car was slowing down. 'We must be there!' Rose thought.
She looked at Jack and he nodded that they were there.
"OK sir that will be ninety-seven
sense." The cabdriver told Jack. Jack gave the man the money and Jack and
Rose went to the front door. Jack took a key out of his pocket and shook it
around. Rose smiled a little and took it from him, rolling his eyes. She put
the key in the door and opened the door. Picking up her bags she stepped
inside, followed by Jack.
"OK where's the bloody light
switch." Jack said felling around. "Here it is." Jack said
flipping it on. Light flooded the room. Rose looked around, there was a
good-sized living room with big bay windows overlooking the Pacific Ocean and a
fireplace on the right wall. To the right of the living room was a door that
Rose assumed lead to the bedroom and to the left was a small kitchen and
bathroom. Rose went and looked in that door, she was right it was a bedroom.
And it was huge! There was a four-post bed, a fireplace with a couch in front
of it, and a bathroom with a huge bathtub.
"Jack, Jack honey come and look at this
room!" Rose called to him. Jack came in.
"Wow! This is nice." Jack said
looking around.
"Just how much did you pay for
this?" Rose asked.
"Well Rose I was talking to this man
about it an he said that they had trouble renting the bungalow in October-May.
And he said if I paid for a week in and a half, he would throw in an extra week
and a half. So."
"Oh Jack this is wonderful!" Rose
said running over and throwing her arms around Jack's neck.
"I am glad you think so Rose." Jack
said putting his arms around her waist. She leaned up and kissed him.
"Mmm, lets go and get our stuff."
Rose said after the kiss. Jack nodded and went to get his stuff and Rose
followed him.
