JACK AND ROSE: TOGETHER FOREVER
Chapter Eight

Pitter patter. Pitter patter. When the rain. Rose slowly opened her eyes, the first thing she saw was rain pouring down the big windows in the bedroom. She moaned and rolled over. Jack was asleep still. Rose looked at the clock; it was about 8:00. Jack never sleep later than 9:00.

'I am going to get up and make him breakfast.' She thought and pulled herself out of bed. She crossed the room and grabbed her pink fuzzy bathrobe. Rapping it around herself, she quietly opened the door and walked out, closing the door as quietly as she had opened it. Rose walked over into the living room and looked outside. A heavy fog covered the ocean and it was raining everywhere.

'Oh well I guess our good luck had to end sometime.' She thought. It had been good weather the whole time they had been there except for last Monday, where it had rained a little over night. Rubbing her eyes Rose walked into the kitchen.

'What should I make.' Rose said to herself looking over the breakfast cookbook that had been up on a bookshelf. She finally decided on a coffeecake. She had always liked them as a kid, and she hoped Jack did too. Rose got too work and before long she had a beautiful coffeecake for herself and Jack to enjoy. A beautiful aroma filled the bungalow. Suddenly she had an idea. Rose put the cake and some coffee she had made on a tray. Than she got out two plates and coffee mugs and set them on the tray. Picking it up, she took the tray into the bedroom.

"Jack, Jack honey time to wake up." Rose announced cheerfully as she entered the room. She put the tray on her nightstand and circled the bed to Jack's side and knelled down by him.

"Jack. Jack I brought breakfast. Time to wake up." Rose said. Jack opened his eyes and closed them again. Rose went over to her side of the bed and got under the covers. If Jack wasn't going to wake up by her asking him, than she would have to do something else. She reached across the bed and started to tickle Jacks back. Jack woke up instantly and started laughing.

"You wouldn't wake up the nice way Jack, so." Rose told him.

"Rose the things you do to me." Jack said shacking his head. Rose just grinned at big grin at him.

"Now Mr. Dawson, sense you are up would you like your breakfast?" Rose asked.

"Of course. What did you make?"

"I made a coffee cake." Rose told him.

"Oh yum. I haven't had that sense I was a kid." Jack said licking his lips. Rose reached over and got the tray off the table. She set it on the bed and poured Jack some coffee.

"Oh Rose this looks so good. Thank you." Jack told her as Rose handed him his plate.

"Jack I have been thinking. Well we only had a week and a half left in this house. And well what are we going to do after. We don't have a house yet. Remember." Rose told him.

"Well I don't think we need a house right away. Why don't we just rent an apartment? It will be cheaper and we don't know what exactly we are going to do yet. So how about it?" Jack asked.

Rose took a sip of her coffee before answering, "Yes, that seams like a sensible idea too me."

"OK it's settled than. We will go and look tomorrow because I mean look at it outside." Rose laughed. Jack had finally realized that it was raining outside.

"I think it's going to rain all day." Rose stated.

"Yeah, I am going to be stuck inside all day with you. How will I survive?" Jack said teasingly shaking his head.

"I don't know. You'll just have to bear it I guess." Rose said. Than they both started laughing. Jack and Rose finished their breakfast, and got up. Rose took the dishes into the kitchen, put them in the sink and than returned to the bedroom. She shivered; it was cold in side. Rose had forgotten that it was only May. It could still be cold out.

"Jack lets build a fire." Rose told him as she entered the bathroom.

"It's really cold." Jack looked up from the sink.

"OK I will." Jack said.

"I am going to take a shower now." Rose told him.

"If you jump in there, I am going to have to jump in there after you." Jack said smirking. Rose put her hand on her chest, pretending to be shocked. Than her expression changed. Rose walked over and took Jacks hand.

"This time I am going to jump." She told him. Rose let him over to the shower and pulled the curtain aside. Rose took her nightgown off and than Jack took his clothes off. Rose stepped into the shower and pulled Jack in with her.

Later that Day

"Jack what do you want for dinner." Rose asked Jack at about 6:45 that night. Jack, who was tending to the fire, looked up at Rose who was sitting on the couch.

"I really don't care." Jack told her. "Whatever you want is fine with me."

"Well do you just want some pasta or chicken or what?" Rose prodded.

"Pasta's fine with me." Jack said.

"Alright I'll go get started on it." Rose said throwing off the blanket that had been covering her. Jack watched her leave. Rose had taken a pair of Jack's pants and put them on along with one of her blouses. She had tied her hair into a ponytail that hung down her back. Jack thought she looked great. Rose went into the kitchen and started boiling water. When the water was boiled, Rose poured the noodles in. While the noodles were cooking, she made a salad. And by the time she was done with this, the noodles were done. She poured the noodles into a bowl and put some Parmesan cheese on the top. She grabbed all this and put it on a tray. Than she carried the tray into the living room and sat it down in front of Jack. They sat on the floor in front of the fire.

"Jack this honeymoon has been wonderful." Rose told him.

"Well it's not over yet." Jack told her back. "This is wonderful pasta Rose." Jack told her.

"Thank you. But it's not that hard to make. All I did was cook some noodles and throw some cheese on top. It wasn't that hard."

"Well even if it was a ten minuet dinner, it still tastes great."

"I am glad you think so." Rose told him. Rose took a glance toward the windows. It was still raining pretty hard. 'Will this rain ever stop.' Rose thought. She really wanted to go outside, even though it was already getting pretty dark.

"Rose. Rose. Earth to Rose." Jack called to her.

"What? Oh sorry Jack. I was just thinking hard." Rose told him.

Jack smiled, "I was wondering if you were done?" Jack asked.

"Oh ya. Will you take the stuff into the kitchen Jack?" Rose asked. Jack nodded and gathered up the stuff. He went into the kitchen and put their dishes in the sink. Rose watched him do this, but was confused when he went from the kitchen to the bedroom. A few minutes later he came out with his arms full of blankets and pillows. Now she was even more confused. Rose gave him a perplexing look.

Jack answered her question with another question, "Rose did you ever go to sleep over parties when you were a kid?" Jack asked. Rose nodded, still confused.

"Well I thought we would have our own little sleep over party." He said walking over to her and putting the blankets and pillows down. Jack and Rose pushed the couch back and spread some of the blankets out on the floor. Than they put the pillows down and than the other blankets.

"Now Rose I know what boy's do at their sleep over party's but call me crazy, I've never been to a girls sleep over party. I know you don't want to spent the night talking about girls." Rose giggled.

"Well Jack, we usually talk about boys, do each other's hair, tell ghost or funny stories or bake We also play truth or dare and tell secrets. Now I don't think you want to talk about boys, so lets make some cookies and take them over by the fire. Than we can tell stories and I'll do your hair." Rose told him.

Jack gave her a weird look, but said, "OK if that's what you want. Actually it sounds like fun. But only if I can try to braid your hair." Jack told her. Rose nodded and went to the kitchen. She got out the stuff for chocolate chip cookies. Jack came over and helped her get stuff out.

"Do we have everything we need?" Jack asked. Rose ran over the list.

"Um Jack will you get the flower and butter out please?" Rose asked. Jack agreed and went and got the rest of the stuff. Rose took the butter and chopped it out, and she added the brown and regular sugar in. Jack helped her do everything up until the flower. Than he went to use the bathroom. Rose measured out the flower, and had an idea. She took a little flower in the palm of her hand, and went to hide by the bathroom. As soon as Jack came out, Rose threw a handful of flower at him. Jack pretend to not care and slowly backed Rose to the counter.

"Ya know Rose I wouldn't do that." He said reaching behind Rose into the flower bag. He grabbed a big handful and threw it in Rose's face. She gasped and wiped the flower away from her eyes. Jack started laughing at her face and than cut out running around the kitchen. Rose ran around with the flower bag throwing white powder all over him. Suddenly Jack grabbed the flower bag and Rose stopped dead in her tracks. They both started at each other for a minute before Rose shouted, " Ah, Jack no." And ran away. Suddenly before Rose could know what was happening Jack knocked her to the floor.

"You know Rose, I could dump this whole bag of flower on you. But that wouldn't be very nice would it." Rose shook her head no.

"OK if you promise to behave yourself, I'll put the bag down."

"I promise. Now get off me." Jack climbed off Rose and helped Rose up. Rose brushed the flower off her face and the little that had gotten on her clothes when Jack had tackled her. She helped Jack brush himself off and together they finished making the cookie dough. Than they put the dough in the oven and went to get their nightclothes on. Rose put on a red silk nightgown, while Jack put on some sweatpants and normal shirt. By the time they were finished dressing, the cookies were ready. Rose ran and took them out off the oven. As she set them on the top of the oven, Rose asked Jack something.

"Jack do you think that cookies go good with wine?" Jack took a look at Rose and read her mind. He got down a bottle of wine and two wineglasses. Rose took the cookies off the pan and onto a plate. She carried the plate while Jack carried the glasses and wine bottle. They put the stuff on a small coffee table. Than Jack went to get some more wood for the fire. Rose poured the wine into the glasses, put one down, and took a sip out of one. She heard Jack come in and put her glass down and went to help Jack. Taking an armload of wood she, along with Jack, carried wood over to the fire. Jack put some wood on the fire and than grabbed his wineglass. Rose grabbed hers and laid down.

"Jack come and lay down by me." Rose said.

"Just sec." Jack told her. He ran threw the house turning off all the lights.

"That's better." Jack said lying down.

"Jack hand me that brush." Rose told him. Jack reached over and grabbed Rose's brush and gave it to her.

"Now come here." Rose told him sitting up. Jack scooted over and sat up himself. Rose started brushing out Jack hair.

"OK Jack to you want your hair in two pony tales or one?" Rose asked him.

"Ah, two." Jack told her in a girlie voice. Rose giggled and put his hair up in to little pigtails.

"Now look at me." She told him. Jack turned around and faced Rose. Rose giggled and gave him a kiss on the check.

"You look so cute." Rose said pinching his check.

"Rose I really don't want to know what you are going to do to are kids." Jack said shaking his head. Rose stuck her tongue out at him.

"OK now it's my turn." Jack said taking the brush away from Rose. He took her hair out of the ponytail and let it fall freely down her back. He started brushing out her hair with long graceful strokes.

"Jack do you any scary stories?" Rose asked as he began to braid her hair.

"Of course. But some of them are really scary, I don't know if you would like them." Rose thought about this, she liked scary stories, but Jacks might be super scary.

"Well can I hear one?" Rose asked.

"If you think you can handle it."

Rose nodded confidently. "I think I can."

"OK." Jack said and finished braiding her hair, and did a pretty good job too. "Well it all started about ten years ago…"
