JACK AND ROSE AFTER TITANIC
Chapter Three

Rose walked over to the guesthouse, where her mother was staying, and knocked on the door. "Mother, are you ready to go on the tour now?"

"Yes, I am," Ruth replied from the house.

"Okay. Meet me at the main house in ten minutes. I called a limo to take us over there."

"Okay," Ruth replied.

Ten Minutes Later

Ruth met Rose outside of the Dawsons’ mansion. "Is Jack going?"

"No. He is working on the nursery." Just then, the limo pulled up. Rose opened the door and let her mother in first before she got in herself. Less than ten minutes later, they arrived at the studio. Rose reached into her purse, gave the driver a tip, and thanked him.

Rose had started to show her mother around the lot when they were stopped by a guard. "Sorry, ladies, but I am going to have to asked you two to leave."

"Why?" Rose asked, in shock.

"Because there had been a fire here, and the studio will be closed down for at least two weeks."

"A fire? How did it start?" Ruth asked.

"We don't know," the guard replied, walking away.

Rose turned to her mother, and said, "Since the studio is closed, let's just go shopping for clothes for the babies."

"Babies?" Ruth asked.

"Yes. I found out I am having triplets."

"Do you know if there are going to be girls or boys?"

"No. I want it to be a surprise."

*****

Rose and Ruth walked into a baby clothing store called Baby Express.

"Can I help you?" a clerk asked.

"No. We can manage," Rose replied.

"Okay, but if you need any help, just walk up to the counter. I will be glad to help you if you need it."

"Thank you," Rose said, as she picked out a few girls’ and boys’ outfits.

A few minutes later, she and her mother paid for the purchases.

*****

"Thank you for buying the strollers and the cribs," Rose said, as they headed back to the house.

"You are welcome. They will arrive at your house sometime next week. Are you sure you don't need to take a bus or taxi?"

"I am sure."

"Okay, but please let me carry your bags."

A grateful Rose handed her mother her bags from the store.

*****

A few minutes later, they arrived back at the mansion. "Thank you again for everything," Rose said.

"You are welcome."

"Do you want to come in and see how Jack is doing on the nursery?"

"I would love to."

*****

"Jack, we are back," Rose said.

"Just a minute," Jack called from upstairs.

"I just want to show my mother the nursery."

"Okay. Come on up."

"Jack, this is beautiful," Ruth said, when she saw the nearly finished room.

"Thank you. All we need now is three cribs."

Ruth just smiled to herself.
