Based on some situations originated by James Cameron.
I sighed. I enjoyed my singing
career, but with Jack gone, it just wasn't everything I imagined. It was also
challenging at times, especially when I was given music and expected to write
words to it.
One afternoon, there was a knock
on my door.
"Rose?" I heard my
manager say.
"Come in!" I called.
"Rose, we need you to write
a song today," he said.
"Again?" I asked.
"Yes," he said.
"But this time, make it personal and write about whatever you want."
"All right," I said, as
though it would be a piece of cake.
"I'll give you two
hours," he said, leaving the room.
Great. Just great. Two hours?
What kind of a woman does he think I am?
I sat down at the piano and
played the music.
Hmm. I like this. Nice and
slow. Now comes the hard part. The words.
I thought about what I could
write that was personal. Oh, Jack. I wish you were here! I need help! Jack!
That's it! I'll write about Jack!
My pen flew across the paper.
Before I knew it, I was done.
I read through the words a couple
of times and was satisfied. My manager knocked on the door again.
"Rose, are you done?"
he asked.
"Yes," I said, smiling.
"All right, then. Let's hear
it," he said, sitting down at the piano.
I took a deep breath and started
to sing.
Every night in my dreams,
I see you, I feel you
That is how I know you go on
Far across the distance and spaces between us
You have come to show you go on.
Near, far, wherever you are,
I believe that the heart does go on
Once more, you open the door,
And you're here in my heart
And my heart will go on and on.
Love can touch us one time,
And last for a lifetime
And never let go ‘til we're gone
Love was when I loved you,
One true time I hold to
In my life we'll always go on.
Near, far, wherever you are,
I believe that the heart does go on
Once more you open the door,
And you're here in my heart
And my heart will go on and on.
You're here
There's nothing I fear,
And I know that my heart will go on
We'll stay forever this way
You are safe in my heart
And my heart will go on and on.
When I was done, my manager
stared at me. "Rose, that's one of your best songs yet!" he
exclaimed. "How in the world did you come up with that?"
"Well…" I started.
"Like you said, I made it personal."
"Rose, everyone is going to
love that!" he said. "I'll be back later."
When he left the room, I sat down
on the couch and sighed happily.
"I'll never let go,
Jack," I whispered. "I'll never let go."
The End.
