CAL’S REVENGE
Chapter Ten

Two Weeks Later

Cal's father still had no plan, so Cal, fed up, finally tried to put his plan into action.

He turned to his father. "I want you to fake being sick."

"Then what?"

"When a guard comes to see what is wrong, we will overpower him."

Nathan nodded his head.

As planned, Nathan faked being sick, so a guard came over. "What is wrong?"

"I think my father needs to be taken to the hospital."

The guard nodded his head and slowly opened the door.

Cal pushed the guard to the floor. "Listen," he said as he put a knife he had hidden to the back of the guard’s neck. "I want you to count to one hundred. Do not get up until you count to one hundred. Is that clear?"

"Yes," the frightened guard replied.

"Good," Cal replied with an evil smile.

Rose and Jack were getting ready when there was a knock on their door.

"Who could it be?" Rose asked.

"I will find out," Jack replied, putting on his shoes.

"I will come with you," Rose said, putting on the new hat that Jack had bought for her.

"Are you ready?" Jack asked.

Rose nodded.

"Let's go, then."

A Few Minutes Later

"Hello, sweetpea," Cal said.

"What are you two doing here?"

"We came to pay you and Jack a visit," Cal replied, eyeing Jack. He grabbed Rose's arm.

"Let go of me."

"Not a chance, sweetpea. You may have gotten away from me once, but not again," he said as he started to pull Rose to the stairs.

Jack tried to help Rose, but was hold back by Nathan.

"Let go of me, you evil monster!" Rose said.

Cal slapped Rose. "Shut up."

Rose did not say anything else, but kept trying to escape from Cal's tight grip.

When they were at the top of the stairs, Cal tried to take Rose's clothes off. Rose, however, fought back and pushed him. Cal lost his balance and fell over the banister. He landed face down. Rose stood there in shock.

Hearing the noise, Nathan and Jack came running.

Seeing Cal unmoving on the floor, Nathan turned on Rose. "You murdered my son."

"No! It was an accident. He was attacking me."

"You will pay for what you have done."

"Leave Rose alone. It was an accident. I saw what happened," Jack replied as he went to comfort a still shocked Rose.

Nathan grabbed Jack around the neck and started choking him. Rose tried to pull Nathan off of Jack, but he was strong. He was stronger than Cal had been, and Cal had been very strong.

Rose knew that if she did not do anything, Jack could be killed. So she grabbed a heavy object that was laying on a small table and hit Nathan over the head with it. He fell on top of Jack, who pushed him off.

Rose ran over to Jack. "I am glad you are all right," she said, hugging him.

"I was about to lose consciousness," Jack replied.

Rose hugged Jack tighter, knowing she had saved him from being killed.

Two Hours Later

"Don't worry about being charged with anything. You killed Caledon Hockley in self-defense and Nathan Hockley saving your husband," a police officer told Rose.

"Thank you," Rose replied.

The policeman nodded. "If you two need anything, give me a call."

"Thank you," Jack replied as he left.
