RUTH'S REDEMPTION
Chapter Two
Jack led the doctor to where Rose was.
After he examined Rose, who remained
unconscious, he walked over to Jack. "We need to get her to the hospital
right away."
"Will she be okay?" Jack asked.
"I don't know," the doctor replied
truthfully.
"I would like to go with Rose."
"No. You’d better stay here. I will make
sure to call you if there is any change in Rose.” With that, the doctor left
with Rose.
Jack watched from the window.
Four Hours Later
Jack was sitting in the dark when he heard a
knock on his door. "Jack, open up. Rose is going to be okay," the
voice from behind the door told him.
A happy Jack got up to answer it. "Did
you find out why she fainted?"
"Yes, but I think she should tell you.
She been asking for you since she regained consciousness about an hour
ago."
Jack happily put on his jacket and headed out
the door.
*****
Ruth was thankful that Molly was letting her
stay in a spare bedroom at her house.
"Do you want to go out and eat?"
Molly asked.
"No. I just want to take a nap."
"Okay," Molly replied, gently
shutting the door behind her.
Ruth was asleep within minutes, but did not
sleep soundly. She kept having nightmares about the Titanic and the loss of her
daughter.
