A SIMPLE SOLUTION
Chapter Five
Jack lay awake watching Rose sleep in his
arms. Why couldn't he be there to stop Cal? Why did he break his promise? Would
Rose ever forgive him?
Rose stirred in her sleep. Jack kissed her
gently on her lips. Rose's eyes flashed open.
"I'm sorry, I woke you up," Jack
said starring into Rose's eyes.
Rose smiled. "It was worth getting
kissed by you," Rose said as she kissed him the same way he kissed her.
"Rose, I'm so sorry for what happened, I
wasn't there for you and..."
Rose cut in. "Jack, it wasn't your
fault. I don't blame you. Cal is just the evilest man alive."
Jack took Rose's hand and kissed it gently.
"I love you, Rose."
"I love you too," Rose said.
"Now, we both better get to sleep before we wake up your roommates."
"Okay," Jack said after kissing her
one last time.
Jack, again, stayed awake watching Rose
sleep. He was the luckiest man alive.
Before falling asleep, Jack whispered,
"Thank you Lord for bringing me my angel."
