SURVIVING THE HEARTBREAK
Epilogue
Four Years Later
New York
April 15th, 1917
Adele stood in church, listening to the
priest talk about the victims of Titanic once more. The same thing was being
done for the five-year anniversary as the first-year anniversary. Hundreds of
candles were being lit and the priest was reading off the names of the people
who had died once again.
"…James and Laura Brower…" Adele
sighed and felt tears start to come her eyes. She felt her husband squeeze her
hand.
"It'll be okay. I am here," he
said. Adele looked over at Luke and smiled.
"I know, dear. For once I am glad we
came. Maybe after today we can put this all behind us now," she whispered.
Luke nodded and shifted their one-year-old daughter, Meaghan, to his other hip.
Adele smiled and leaned against her husband. And for the first time at one of
these memorials, she smiled.
The End.
