THERE'S NO PLACE LIKE HEAVEN
Chapter Ten

Baby Blues

Months had passed and Rose grew bigger every day. Jack had bought his parents the things they needed just like he said he would. Jack bought his father a new Model T because his father loved those cars. And for his mother he built a new house for him and Rose in the back of his mother's house so she wouldn't have to worry about him leaving again. Also because he wanted her to be close to her grandson or granddaughter. Jack had also bought new furniture for his mother.

Everyone seemed happy except Rose. She knew Jack loved her, but lately he seemed distant to her. Partly because he had been working long hours. In town, he had set up a studio and his new office assistant Brenda Parker was something Rose often worried about. She was perfect in every way, long brown hair, and she was very thin. Rose often thought Jack was cheating on her because he would eat dinner, watch TV, kiss her goodnight, and go to bed. Sometimes when she went to bed with him she would try to arouse him. But he just told her, "Not tonight, honey." She grew tired of it and decided she would have to ask him herself.

It was around six o'clock when Jack came through the door.

"Hi, honey," he said tiredly.

"Hi, Jack." Rose felt happy. "I'm making your favorite so wash up and when you get out dinner will be ready."

Jack did as he was told. He had been working really hard so he and Rose could get away for a few days. With the baby coming, that left him little time to be alone with Rose, because when the baby came he would be happy and probably make Rose feel left out. When he came out of the bathtub, dinner was set with candles.

Rose was waiting at the table for him.

"Well, what's the occasion?" he asked, thinking what it could be.

"We need to talk, Jack." She stared at him.

"Okay, what's wrong?" Although he already knew the answer, or at least he thought he did.

"I need to know what you have been up to," she muttered sadly.

"Rose, what do you mean?" He couldn't think of a single bad thing he had done.

"I mean, Jack, are you sleeping with Brenda?" She had tears in her eyes.

"No, I'm not, Rose." He was angry.

"Then why have you been so distant lately?"

"Rose, I'd love to tell you, but not yet." He didn't want to spoil it.

"Then you are cheating on me." Rose had the guts to say it.

"No, Rose. Gosh, I love you." Jack got even madder.

"Then why don't you touch me anymore? Am I that disgusting?" She felt that way every time he didn't touch her.

"No, Rose, you're not." He was disappointed in her, but he knew why she was thinking like this.

"Then what is it? Please tell me," Rose urged Jack.

"All right. I'll tell you, but you're spoiling my surprise. I have booked us on a one-week getaway to Santa Monica, although you probably won't be able to ride the roller coaster or drink cheap beer with me, but that's what I have been up to. How could you even think I was cheating on you, Rose? I love you with my heart and soul."

He came closer to Rose, put his hands on her face, and kissed her hungrily. Rose was shocked at first. He had never been this mad at her before. He picked her up, although how he had the strength to do it she didn't know. She knew he wasn't going to take his time loving her because she saw the urgency in his eyes.

He put her on the bed. In minutes they were both naked. He kissed her and proceeded to tempt her just a little. He licked his fingers and put them inside her. At first, Rose thought, was this really her beloved Jack or was this his evil twin? She started to move with his hand and he thrust deeper. She was on the verge of letting go, but she couldn't, not without Jack.

"Jack, please. No."

"Yes, Rose. I have always taken from you. Now, it's time for you to enjoy what I can give you."

He kept going and she got wetter. When he felt her tighten he knew he had done his job right. He kneeled between her legs and drank her sweetness. Rose was astonished. Never had he done something like this. She decided to do the same for him. When he lay down, Rose touched his hardness and kept touching him. She kissed him and kneeled between his legs. He asked what she was doing, and she said, "I'm doing what you did for me, sweetheart."

"No, this is your night." He wanted her to remember this night.

"But I want to, Jack," she insisted. She wouldn't take no for an answer.

"All right, lovely Rose. Show me what you can do," he dared her.
