THERE'S NO PLACE LIKE HEAVEN
Chapter Two

Finally, after all explanations had been explained, they finally arrived at her room. She grabbed the doorknob to her room, and her mother and Cal were nowhere to be found, but all the stuff was there. Rose went further into the room, and everything was quiet. She told Jack they should go to the Purser. He was on C deck. They went. When they got there and asked about her mother and Cal, Rose was shocked. They were not aboard. It turns out the room was registered to Mr. and Mrs. Dawson. Instantly they were both shocked because Jack had stayed with Fabrizio in their room. It was all a mistake, they said. They were not even married, but it was them. Jack Dawson and Rose Dawson. They decided to go back to the room. Rose said there was no reason to go back to his room on E deck. So Jack stayed with Rose. After all, he didn't want to lose her again. They got dressed for dinner. Jack used Cal's clothes. After all, they were the right size, but how odd--Cal was taller. Jack wondered while changing, how could he be rich? He had worked on a squid boat and tramp steamers and such. So he thought Rose must be rich. But when Rose opened the safe to get her jewels, there was a letter with the drawing he had made of Rose with the necklace Cal had bought her. Although the letter read differently, it read:

My Darling Rose,

I will keep you in my heart always.

Your husband,
Jack

It was on Titanic stationary and written in his handwriting, dated April 14, 1912, initialed JD. He thought it was very weird. But Rose dismissed it, and said, "Let's go. I'm starved." They ate with the finest people and ate the finest feast. Rose was glad she was with Jack. She didn't have anyone telling her what to eat or do. John Jacob Astor asked Jack if the Chippewa Falls Dawsons were getting more endorsements. He said he would be happy to sponsor the gallery and make an endorsement. Jack asked what business. He said the Chippewa Falls Dawsons' Art Gallery. Jack was surprised his drawings had finally sold in Paris. Madame Bijou had made him millions. Jack had never really thought they were that good to be sold. Jack was happy as soon as dinner finished. They went to have some real fun to celebrate. Third class was lively and loud. Tommy and Fabrizio were at a table, although Fabrizio seemed quite interested in a blonde he was talking to.

Tommy was arm wrestling at the time, but saw Rose and Jack after the third match. When they arrived at the table they said "Hello" and greeted one another. Jack saw they had some full cups of liquor and offered Rose one. They sat talking to each other. Then, Cora came up to Jack and asked if they could dance. Cora had grown up. She was no longer a little girl.

Jack said all right. Rose looked at them dance and got quite jealous, so she stepped in and said, "May I cut in?" Cora stepped aside and said sure. Jack was stunned that Rose had wanted to dance. The first time he had almost had to grab her out of her chair.

Jack had his arms around her, not embarrassed to do this. After all, they were married. Rose didn't object. She felt a slight warmth. It had shown in her cheeks. Jack asked if she was nervous. She said no. It was such a fast-paced dance it was almost hard to keep up with Jack.

When the song was finished she was tired. Jack got them some drinks. First they drank them, then went up to their room.
