TO THE STARS

Looking outward, to the west
It's my illusion; there is no rust
Blowing through the wind
Like a single speck of dust
And when I arrive there,
They'll all know my name,
They'll all welcome me with open arms
And they'll all know why I came
And when they ask what took so long,
I respond a short reply,
"It's really actually funny.
You know, with no wings, it's hard to fly."
I have run, I have crawled
I swam until I could not breathe
I realized an inner chain bound me,
That was why I could not leave
I don't know why it was a struggle,
There was barely any weight to bear
But when nobody supports your wants and needs,
There seems to be so much more there.
So I gave myself away one day,
To someone who understands
He knew exactly how I felt
And he led me with his hands.
