WHERE IT IS VERY COLD
Written by Belle
Based on some situations originated by James Cameron.

Early April 1912 a boat was launched to sea
Many passengers on board people like you and me
Out into the Atlantic, where it is very cold
The ship set sail with many on board fare welled by young and old

The first few hours were total bliss, like heaven on earth
On the Titanic's maiden voyage, her very own birth.
The rich talked, the poor danced, everything was fine
But alas on a tragic day, it was not to see the sun shine

For something went wrong, that fateful night
Enough to give the boldest and strongest more than a fright
The mighty ship hit something big and tall
And for the hours to come there would be a desperate call

For Titanic hit an iceberg, she started drowning in the sea
The people on board that ship where just like you and me
Some panicked about the mighty gash, some didn't even know
Some were already drowning in the water colder than snow

The unthinkable was unfolding, the unsinkable was sinking
The people still aboard the ship didn't know what they where thinking
They tried to find a lifeboat, a way to stay alive
Some would live to tell the tale, more than half would not survive.

The ship was slowly sinking to the cold bottom of the icy sea
It was taking half the people--the people just like you and me
They didn't know why it happened or how they would get through
The saddest part about this tale, is that it's really true

That ship did sail, with happiness all round
But little did they know, it would sink to the ground
The ground of the Atlantic, where it is very cold
Taking with it people and animals young to old.

So many untold tales, so many broken hearts
For an epic tragedy, that could have been avoided very fast
Memories, and happiness of people and pets young to old
Gone with the Titanic, to where it is very cold.

Disclaimer: Titanic--the one with Jack and Rose--is the most amazing movie ever made. The reality behind it is incredibly sad, and in some ways, haunting. I wrote this poem about the actual ship. Thank you.
