WHERE I WANT TO BE
Epilogue
Two Months Later
After much discussion, Jack and
Rose had decided to head for Santa Monica, where Jack will show them the pier
and they could do all they had talked about aboard Titanic. It was a hard
decision to make, but a necessary one. They couldn’t live off Molly forever.
Molly stood at the entrance of
the train, holding Robbie tightly, watching the newlyweds load up their
belongings on to the train. She hated seeing Jack and Rose go. They had filled
her house with love, joy, and laughter. Now that they were leaving, the house
will return to it’s dull and lifeless state.
"Well that’s everything, I
do believe," Rose sighed as her and Jack returned, ready to take their son
and depart for California.
"We’re going to miss you
Molly," Jack wiped a tear from his eye. He hadn’t expected to be this
emotional about leaving, but then again, he should have. Molly had been like a
mother to him in the past two months. Giving him advice and being there to talk
whenever he and Rose had a rare disagreement.
"You call me anytime
Jack," Molly hugged the young man after handing Robbie to Rose. "Even
if it’s just to talk."
"Thank you Molly," Jack
smiled sadly, pulling away from the hug.
"Take care Jack," She
waved as he took Robbie from Rose and disappeared into the train, so Rose could
have her good-bye with Molly.
"That boy loves you,"
Molly smiled. "You take care of them."
Rose laughed. "I will. Thank
you Molly. I don’t know how I’m ever going to repay you for all you’ve done for
me…for us."
Molly grinned. "Just name
your firstborn daughter after me and I’ll be happy."
Rose laughed again and hugged the
older woman tightly. "I love you Molly. Thank you so much."
"Good-bye Rosie," Molly
sniffed as Rose let her go and returned to the train. Waving one last time, she
went inside.
Five minutes later, the train
pulled out of the station, taking the Dawson family into a bright and happy
future.
The End.
