Constitution
NAME
The name of the association shall be the Canadian Association of Professional Pet
Dog Trainers (herein after referred to as the CAPPDT or the ASSOCIATION).
AIMS & OBJECTIVES
The aims and objectives of the Association shall be as follows:
(a) To further the concept of dog-friendly and humane training techniques,
(b) To develop and bring to the highest standards possible, training techniques that
further that aim,
(c) To promote the validity of dog-friendly and humane training techniques to the
veterinary and general community for the creating of people-friendly dogs,
(d) To provide a forum whereby professional pet dog trainers can be educated,
exchange and generate ideas and to network with other professionals,
(e) To endeavour, through educational opportunities, to increase public awareness
of dog-friendly and humane training techniques.
AREA OF OPERATION
The area of operation shall be CANADA.
REVISIONS TO THE CONSTITUTION
Revisions to the Constitution may be made ONLY at the Annual General Meeting.
All proposed amendments must be received by the designated appointee not less
than ninety (90) days prior to the AGM. Notice of such proposed amendments and
ballot forms will be mailed to all members not less than sixty (60) days prior to the
Annual General Meeting. A majority will carry any amendment. All votes will be by
written ballot and be on the Association's official ballot form, only.
