Herb Garden - The perfetct name for photos taken of the Herb Gardens at Gantz Farm. The Gardens at Gantz Farm consists of three separate herb gardens: The Garden of Yesterday, The Garden of Today and The Garden of Tomorrow. Here are some volunteers planting in the Garden of Yesterday. I served on the GGF Steering Committee to help plan the gardens. In 1988, before I had access to the Internet, I searched three local libraries (13 books) so we could decide what plants to use in the Garden of Yesterday. We wanted the plants to be the type one would have found in an 1840s era kitchen garden, including heirloom vegetables. Here I am in the costume of an 1840s farmwife at one of the early social functions at the Herb Gardens at Gantz Farm. In this photo, I am standing under the rose trellis between the Gardens of Yesterday & Today. Now, the gardens have grown so that the view of the hill beyond (where the cars are parked) is not visible from this vantage point.

Photos of my Darby Valley Garden Club friends:
This is at Arts in The Alley in Grove City, Ohio. Some of my fellow Darby Valley Garden Club members (Nancy, Ruth & Martha) are helping kids pot marigold flowers. In more recent years we have saved and supplied materials for making potpourri. |
