ARTICULATION AGREEMENT
BETWEEN
ALFRED STATE COLLEGE SCHOOL
OF
VOCATIONAL TECHNOLOGIES FOOD SERVICE DEPARTMENT
AND
MOUNT MARKHAM HIGH SCHOOL
FAMILY & CONSUMER SCIENCES DEPARTMENT

Alfred State College School of Vocational Technologies, Food Service Department is pleased to offer articulation to students who have met specific criteria within the Mount Markham High School Family & Consumer Sciences Department.

CRITERIA FOR ARTICULATION

While in high school, the student must:


1. take and pass at least three Family & Consumer Science courses that include food study and preparation.

2. have a written recommendation for articulation from the Family and Consumer Sciences teacher.

3. be accepted by Alfred State College into the Food Service Program.

4. present to the Alfred State College Food Service faculty fifteen (15) completed Product Evaluation Sheets that are signed and evaluated by the Family and Consumer Science teacher. The product selections must be from the list (Appendix B) provided by Alfred State College Food Service Department.


While at Alfred State College, the student must:

1. earn a minimum 2.5 GPA each semester.

The benefit for those who qualify is the ability to complete our four semester program in only three semesters, thereby saving twenty-five percent of the college costs. By graduating in three semesters instead of four, students would typically be available for the work force in December and January instead of the more usual and crowded May and June.

Students interested in obtaining Baking, Production and Management Degree, may call The Alfred State College Food Service Department Chair at (716) 593-6270 for an appropriate list of product requirements.

The college , through its procedure for advanced placement credit, reserves the right to make the final determination concerning the advanced placement of all students. This procedure requires an interview with an Alfred State College Food Service faculty member.
