Down Through the Chimney
A Fingerplay by Susan Nipp

Down through the chimney, Santa slipped,
(Creep fingers downward)
Brushed off the dirt and snow that dripped,
(Brush clothes)
Looked 'round the room and then he crept
(Shade eyes, look around) (tiptoe)
Right past the beds where the children slept.
(rest head on hands)
Laid all the presents under the tree,
(Pantomime (hands form pointed
laying presents) tree above head)

Filled the stockings full for the children to see.
(Fill stockings) (Hand shades eyes)
Then tiptoed to the chimney and was out of sight,
(tiptoe) (swoop head from left to right)
'Til he jumped into his sleigh and flew off through the night.
(jump) (swoop arms upward)
