Okay, is it me? I don't think we've had one bad episode of Power Rangers yet this season. "The Lost Galactabeasts Part 1" just continued this trend of great episodes that started with "Destined for Greatness". I know it's still very early in the season, but I just don't see the quality of the eps going down anytime soon. And to top it all off, we got a new general and a focus ep for Kai and Damon!
"The Lost Galactabeasts Part 1" was a quality episode all around. It began with the soon-to-be-new-general Deviot (Nice name!) Barged into Scorpious' place unannounced, and pledged his alleigance to the slimy one. He wants to be Scorpious' new general and get into the cocoon that Trakeena turned down. Apparently, this is still a touchy subject for the master of slime as he is quite angry and keeps Deviot away from the cocoon, saying it is for no one other than his estranged daughter. Deviot decides to show his power. He claims to have control of the three most powerful evil zords in existence! Scorpious demands proof, which Deviot intends to give....
The Credits were changed again. Mike's shot was removed, Leo's original shot put back in, and some more new scenes were added.
In the Terra Venture Science division, every scientist and brain (Including Kendrix!) Is working to decode the Galaxy book. With no luck I may add. One Scientist tells Stanton that it's proving very difficult to decipher. Kendrix pieces through the book and finds a page with the 5 galactabeasts on it! Problem is, it's a torn page. Interesting...
In a good scene of continued character development for Maya, she talks with the Galactabeasts in the woods, having a feeling that something is amiss...
Meanwhile, just outside a Terra Venture building, Kai is harrassing Damon to fix his car faster because he has dinner on back at his room (Why would he leave his room when there's something cooking there?! The whole place could go up in smoke!) Anyway, Damon gets the car fixed and he and Kai hop in and drive off. But, Deviot blasts the car! They morph, and confront him. He kicks Kai's butt pretty easily, and then takes Damon on. (Funny, I thought Kai would've been the better fighter). Oh well, he takes Damon down by twisting his arm and kicking him around, and kidnaps them after a few well placed blasts! They wake up, with strange devices connected to them on a strange planet. Deviot explains that they will fight, and the energy they expend will power his evil zords! He has a Stingwinger turn on the device, and the kidnapped Rangers have no choice but to duke it out. But, they soon tire out. Deviot lets them rest, for now...
Back in the science division of Terra Venture, Kendrix works late into the night, trying to decipher the indecipherable Galaxy Book. Maya comes in, and tells Kendrix of her feeling. Kendrix shows Maya what she found. A torn piece of the Galactabeast page that shows 3 other Galactabeasts!
In the guy Rangers' room. Leo arrives home, to the scene of a burning pot! He fixes the situation, and tries to locates Kai, to no avail. Kendrix and Maya come in, and they try to contact Kai and Damon. They all realize something is wrong, and rush off to look for their missing friends.
Back at the fight, Damon strikes Kai, taking his Quasar Sabre, and preparing to use it on him! But, at the last minute, he tosses it at Deviot's machine, destroying it in a fantastic explosion. The two take advantage of Deviot's disadvantage and escape. They make it pretty far, before collasping in a heap by the ocean. Deviot and his Stingwinger goons prepare to finish off the Rangers, when The others show up! In a great Stingwinger fight, they take them out. Magna Defender shows up, and they all use the Orion Blast on Deviot! Too bad, it doesn't work, as his energy sucking device sucks up the orion energy, giving him more than enough power to power his evil zords!
Stratoforce and Centaurus show up to blast our heroes. The Rangers summon their zords, but the Rangers zords refuse to fight, shutting down and taking a beating. Turns out this was all part of Deviot's plan as he knew the Ranger's zords would never fight his evil Galactazords! Deviot calls his zords off having shown his power, and our heroes retreat. Back at Scorpious' base he demands that Deviot finish the Rangers off next time. While, Kai and Kendrix try to find out more about the Galaxy book, as they know that their time is running out. We're left with a "To Be Continued..."
Good Episode! I especially liked the fight between Kai and Damon and the Stratoforce Megazord is swwweeeett!. I'm looking forward to the conclusion on friday.
