Wow! Man, from the preview I didn't think that this was gonna be as good of an episode as it was. But, I was proven wrong. The only reason this episode didn't get a 5.0 was because Leo gave some shaky lines in the beginning of the ep. But, other than that, it was a perfect ep all the way.
The one thing I liked about the episode was that, finally, this was an episode that focused on all of the Rangers equally. The real improvement was with Damon and Maya, who finally got their share of good lines and focus in this ep. I think this is the first episode this season that has equally focused on all of the Rangers.
Deviot. This is one cool villian. He reminds me of Darkonda mixed with a bit of Prince Gasket. He's devious, for sure. I especially liked his teleport. It was a kinda phase-shift teleport. It reminded me of Darkonda's teleport.
The Drama. Whoa. This episode had quite a bit of it, and that was a good thing. I liked how Maya, in the beginning, was frustrated with the Galactabeasts because they wouldn't help. I also liked the whole "Astro Cycle" scene in which the Rangers kept getting taken out by the various forces that were overunning Terra Venture, and Leo was the only one left. The end, when Kendrix was hit by Leo's cycle and stopped him, was nice. I also really liked the ending zord battle. In my opinion, this is one of the best zord battles the Rangers have ever had. I loved how the music added to the emotion of the scene and how the Rangers were pleading to the zords. Then when the zords turned good and it showed by them waving their hands over their faces. The sundown to night aspect was great. I love night zordfights.
The Monster. Was it Artichoke? Isn't that a vegetable? Well, anyway, he was a good monster. I liked his design. He was a good overall monster, nothing special.
The End. When Commander Stanton gave the speech and told the recruits that even if they needed to, the couldn't get back to earth, was well done and the music at the end gave a sort of finality. It pretty much officialized that Power Rangers is not going back to earth, as many fans have predicted it will do after Lost Galaxy. And, if it is, The only way I can see it happening is if Lightspeed Rescue is used as a filler series for the time between Space and Lost Galaxy.
Overall a very well done episode. Man, if every episode this season is as good as these first five have been, I'll see no problem in declaring Lost Galaxy the best series to date. Here's hoping. :)
Well, Saturday's episode sounds good, and the preview showed some good footage. Apparently, Scorpious dies in the next episode and either Trakeena or Deviot takes over. Looks good.
And, starting Monday, all new episodes of Power Rangers six days a week!!! You can look for the reviews the day after the episode, but if they aren't there, don't cry to me. I have school and a life outside of PR. I'll try to get every ep's review up by the Saturday of that week, but I already know I'm probably going to miss an episode with it on six days a week, so all the reviews may not be up until reruns in december. Later!
Ciao!
