Well, I've been proven wrong once again! "Mean Wheels Mantis" was an incredible episode even though the preview led me to believe otherwise.
The Mantis monster was a good monster. Goofy, but not too goofy. He was just serious enough.
The plot was a good one and quite original for PR. The Mean Wheels Mantis captured Maya and Kendrix and turned them into trophys. He wanted the Rangers to race him to win them back. What surprised me was that Leo had actually lost the first race. Then, more determined, Leo learned to listen to his heart to understand the Galactabeasts and learn how to win the race. Then, he gained the Red Capsular Cycle and used it to beat the mantis, then destroy him. The zord battle in this episode was also longer than usual.
Did anyone else notice that that wasn't Kendrix's voice. I also suspected this in yesterday's episode. These eps were obviously made around the time Valerie was in the hospital due to her Leukemia.
A great episode with some good action!
Monday's episode, "Loyax' Last Battle", looks good from the preview. Plus, the Space Rangers return next Thursday and "The Power of Pink", in which Karone takes Kendrix's powers, airs next Friday! Looks like an exciting week of PR next week!
