Another good LG episode. Not that much outstanding, but nonetheless
Good.
This episode finally had a lot more of the focus on Maya, who hasn't
Really had the usual focus ep yet. It also focused on Kendrix, and further
Developed the great feeling of friendship and chemistry among the team.
Both of these Ranger-actors did good jobs, and the ep added new stuff to
what could've been just another "pink-yellow friendship" episode.
What really surprised me was just how much this plot mirrored last
Year's "A Rift In the Ranger/Cassie-Ashley" ep. They even used the
Same finishing move on the monster in the end! But, while that episode
Was bland and dull, this one was full of life and exciting.
The basic plot of the ep was that Kedrix and Leo were baking a cake for
Damon's surprise birthday party, all the while having a good 'ol laugh at
Him for thinking they forgot it (a la "Happy Birthday, Zack"). Maya acc-
Dentally eats the cake and she and Kendrix get into a big fight over it.
The monster of the day, Destruxo, comes down to wreck havoc and
Continue Scorpius's search for the Lights of Orion. He plants an "Orion-finding stick"
In the ground and puts up a forcefield so the Rangers won't stop him. But, lo
And behold, Kendrix and Maya just happen to be in the forcefield. They
Get their butts kicked trying to stop him and along the way become friends
Again in some awesome scenes.
Meanwhile, the boy Rangers use a few plans to try and get inside the forcefield
To help our female friends before running into the Magna Defender, who
Complains that he was wondering when they would show up to annoy
him. He tries to knock the forcefield down with ToroZord, convienently
Not caring if he destroys the Terra Venture in the process. The 3 guys
Get their animals and try to stop him. Suddenly, he is automatically ejected
From the ToroZord, apparently in pain. The 3 Rangers wonder what's up
With him.
The girls, meanwhile, are in the process of getting kicked around by Destruxo,
But they then use a move ripped from the "Rift" (episode, that is) to weaken him
And destroy the forcefield. All of our heroes are reunited, and take on Destruxo, when suddenly
The lights finally appear!! They take off, though, and leave our heroes,
And Destruxo hanging. They all go home. Damon has his party, and the
Rangers stare off into space, wondering if the thing they've been searching
For for half the season and let get away in 2 seconds will ever return...
Good points of this episode were, the Kendrix and Maya fights, the cool
Ways they morphed, and theLights of Orion plot twist when they got away.
What I really didn't like was Destruxo's voice! I mean, he was supposed
to be big and scary, but his voice sounded like something that belonged
On a much lesser monster. It really detracted from the episode.
Well, only 3 episodes left! PriS's last 3 episodes (Barrilian Sting,
Identity Crisis, and Flashes of Darkonda) were the best out of the entire
Season. Let's hope Lost Galaxy's will be, too!! (From the preview next
week's looks awesome!)
