Vampiric Origins Vampiric Origins

Many offer theories as to the possible origins of the Vampire, theories ranging from the sublime to the ridiculous. I humbly offer to you, dear visitor, my own views on this subject.

Comparing the Vampire to a human is akin to comparing the wolf to the domestic dog. They are different as night and day, yet are able to breed. DNA configurations are similar enough to allow this, yet different enough to warrant their classification as separate and distinct species.

Evidence for this phenomenon relative to the Vampire may be found in historical and mythological writings of all cultures, which depict interaction between early humans and Visitors who were not of this Earth. In western culture, one such example is found in the Hebrew book of Genesis, 6:2--"The Sons of God saw the daughters of man that they were fair, and they took them wives of all which they chose." The account further states "The Nephilim were on the earth in those days and thereafter, too [reference to the postdiluvian]. Those Sons of God who cohabitated with the daughters of the Adam, and they bore children unto them. They were the Mighty Ones of Eternity, the People of the Shem."

We must delve further to clarify this event by referencing the apocryphal book of Enoch. This text expounds further on these visitors, the Giants or Nephilim, the fallen-down ones [because these tall celestial beings "fell from the sky]. Their half-breed offspring are mentioned as being of great Power who "consumed all the acquisitions of men..."[Enoch 7:3-4] and "dr[a]nk the blood [of humans]." [Enoch 7:6].

This ultimately resulted in the Deluge, but the Great Flood did not mean the end of the Mighty Ones. They reappear in post-diluvian sections of Genesis as the Anakim [or sons of Anak], who did battle and were driven out of Palestine by the Hebrew tribes.

I theorize that the Anakim ultimately migrated to other parts of the globe, utiiizing established trade routes into Siberia and then into Europe. They undoubtedly encountered various nomadic tribes and because of their Knowledge and Power, were recoginzed as Shamen and accepted as such into the tribes. Moreover, their blood consumption, as documented by Gurdjeiff, had taken on ritual significance along with Need.

And so the mystery unfolds and deepens once again. I theorize that the continued mixing of the bloodlines over the millennia caused these genes to become recessive, with manifestations few and far between. Recessive genes do have a phase of dominance, however, and perhaps we are entering an age where manifestations have increased dramatically. I shall leave you, dear reader, with this thought. Any student of genetics will agree that breeding of two with a recessive gene will create an offspring who is more likely to possess a more dominant strain of the gene. Further breeding can ultimately bring the recessive into dominance. Draw your own conclusions from this and choose wisely.

[Note--though I cited from the readily available, the information I presented is paralleled in even more ancient writings {e.g. Sumerian} and in cultures worldwide]
