Angiospermophyta

Definition: Flowering plants; plants which carry their seeds inside an ovary
Examples: Grass, dasies, lilies, roses, tulips, geraniums, peas, sunflowers, apples, cherries, and grapes are some common angiosperm

Angiosperms are flower producing plants. Producing these flowers is an effective method of sexual reproduction because flowers contain both male and female organs. The transportation of pollen to other flowers of the dame species is done by the colour, smell and taste of the flower. The transportation of pollen can very easy. It can attach itself to the body of an animal when it walks by the flower, or be carried by the wind. When it reaches another flower, the seeds are fertilized and then start to develop (for example: an apple) When the apple gets bigger, it sheds it's protective layer then grows into a fruit.

All flowers have the same basic parts so there isn't a lot of differences between the flower types (as for anatomy.) Angiosperm are the dominant plant life on land. Because the flowers provide such an effectieve means of seedling transportation, grasses for example are a very widespread angiosperm. It's in every continent except for Antarctica because of the harsh climate.

- structural adavptaions of the seed is a charachteristic of the angiosperm because it helps them survive on the land.
- the food inside of the seed helps the embreeoo to survive for a period of time.
