SI related books
-The Scarred Soul by Tracy Alderman-the most useful book that I've read on the subject
-Cutting by Steven Levenkron
-A Bright Red Scream by Marilee Strong
both of the above books are good but one (I can't remember which but I think it's A Bright Red Scream) presents personal SI stories only from patients who were sexually abused/raped. yes, that's one of the reasons some people do it but it's not the only one so I was not able to identify with it so well.
-Skin Game by Caroline Kettlewell-a biography/memoir of a self injurer. for a change, not someone who si's because of some sort past abuse. so I was able to relate better.
-Crosses by Shelley Stoehr-this one is fiction but good. I was able to identify with the main character very well, I found it expressed a lot of what was going on in my head as far as thoughts on SI are concerned.
