Sonic the Hedgehog

Sonic is the main character (no duh) and the leader of the Freedom Fighters. He's kind of macho at times, and loves to scarf chilidogs like there is no tomorrow. Sonic is best known for his speed and his trademark Spin Attack, which he uses to make Robotnik's life miserable. Until Robotnik's so called 'defeat' in issue #50, Sonic's favorite pastime was terrorizing Robotnik and generally making a fool out of him. Now he helps rebuild Mobotropolis and tries to keep the peace (most of the time, anyway).
History:
Sonic was raised by his Uncle Chuck in Mobotropolis until the Coup. Very little is known about his past with his parents, but somewhere it was stated that they dissappeared during the Great War (or was it the Coup?). After Sonic and his buddies were relocated to Knothole, Princess Sally formed the Freedom Fighters, and since then Sonic has used his abilities to make Robotnik's life miserable. He learned early on (I'm not sure where) about the power rings and found out he alone was able to use them to either increase his speed or gain knowledge from them.
Recently, Sonic went through some kind of 'makeover'. In issue #71, he used a chaos emerald borrowed from Nate Morgan to save Mobius (again). The result was that his eyes are now green instead of brown and he's got buckles on his shoes. It seems trivial to point out something like this, but I'm willing to bet Sonic Team has something up their sleeve about it.
