Scarred City
S.C.A.R. has an unofficial mandate to clear the streets of criminals at whatever cost. They are virtually legalized murderers. Trace has a hard time intergrating himself into the squad because he does not agree with what they do. The rest of the squad don't accept him and he quickly realizes that he knows too much and that there is no way out. He either has to kill, or be killed. They raid a drug baron's house and murder everyone there except for stripper Candy (Tia Carrere) who has hidden in a closet. Trace knows they will kill her so he helps her escape. The squad later find out that she witnessed the events and survived and they all realize that Trace is a traitor. He cannot turn to the police so the only choice he has is to take Candy and flee. The cops come after them and they know they must expose S.C.A.R. before they are both killed.
With such a great cast, I was expecting this film to be a little better. It's B grade stuff and the members of S.C.A.R. look like an evil 'Mod Squad'. It's entertaining enough I guess and the shootout is genuinely thrilling. Stephen fans should take a look.

Okay... I had a BLAST! Let me tell you that aside from the overly acted parts with the SCAR crew trying to look like BAD A**ES, I loved the dialogue between Stephen and Tia... they had a fun battle of words that was a pleasure to listen to and they livened up all of their scenes.. of special note.. the scene where Candy threatens to shoot her old boss... it is a HOOT.. just watch it.. you'll see!!! |
