ROB ROCK 'EYES OF ETERNITY" INTERVIEW
Date: March 08, 2003
By: Atty. Charlie L. Yap of Metal From The Rock

*You already know him as the lead singer of several bands like Driver, Impellitteri-Heavy Metal's premier band . . . Now, hang on as Rob Rock takes you into the eye of the hurricane with his second solo album.  Metal From The Rock caught up with Rob to let you know what's going on.

Metal From The Rock (MR):  First, please send your message to our surfers.

Rob Rock (RR):  I want to say "hello" to everyone out there!  Thanks for keeping in touch at the website.  The new album will be done in March and believe me, it is well worth the wait!  I am very happy with the recording and I look forward to touring this summer behind the new album.

MR:  Why don't you tell us a little bit about the new album?

RR:  I'm still recording some backing vocals and some guitar solos and we should be finished mixing by mid-March.  We've had many delays due to Roy Z's touring with Rob Halford the past few months but I have faith that the timing will be perfect when it's finished.

MR:  What will be the title of your new album?

RR:  The new album is called "EYES OF ETERNITY" and it will be out around the end of April or early May in Asia and May 26th in Europe and the USA.  We plan to get it out in time for our European tour in June which is centered around our appearance at the Bang Your Head festival in Balingen, Germany.

MR:  Who are the players in the new album?

RR:  The main players were also on the "Rage of Creation" album; Roy Z on guitars, Butch Carlson on drums, Ray Burke on bass.  We also have Rick Renstrom and other members of the 'Rage Of Creation' touring band that perform on the album.  We have added Mistheria on keyboards and a host of world renown guitarists who play on one 13-minute song that is the climax of the album.

MR:  You have been involved in the Rick Renstrom project, please tell us about it.

RR:  Rick Renstrom's new solo album "Until the Bitter End" comes out on Mascot Records April 14th.  I was the executive producer for Rick and also co-wrote the 5 vocal songs on the album with him.  The other 6 songs are instrumentals in the neo-classical vein.  Very cool stuff.

MR:  The new "Best of Impellitteri" is out.  Any comment.

RR:  I would have included other songs that should be on there but I wasn't involved in the selection of songs.  I was happy to see that 2 songs from the Crunch sessions made it on there so the fans can finally hear them.

MR:  Parting thoughts?

RR:  Be patient, the new album "Eyes of Eternity" is coming and it's an epic follow up to "Rage of Creation".  Roy Z has done another great job producing and co-writing the album with me and I am very excited to get the fans reaction to it.  I've been blessed with a great collection of songs and I am sure no one will be disappointed.  I really love this album.  Thanks Brother! Thank you and Thank God!
