- What is a Ladder Game

- A ladder game is a game that is recorded by 1 or more systems to keep stats, and to ultimately see from day to day who is the top ranked player in your chosen game.

- It keeps various stats such as wins, loses, winning percentages, and ranks you accordingly among a group of players.

- The goal is of course to rise to the top of the ladder and rank yourself as high as possible. Of course the #1 spot being the most prestigious and highest ranking spot on any ladder.

- Where can I join a Ladder

- There are 2 ladders available to compete in for the game Close Combat II. These are Tournament House and Cases.

---note From here on out anytime you see  " TH" it is the abbreviation for Tournament House.

- Each is different in its own aspects, but the overall concept is the same; to compete with players around the world and work your way to "hopefully" someday the #1 spot.

- I highly recommend joining both ladders. Each are unique in their own right, and each has a different system as to how players are ranked. But overall the end result is the same. At the same time, some players prefer one ladder over another, so if you are a member of both then you will be able to play more games than if you join only one.

- How does a ladder game work

1.) When you first enter the game room, you will notice the title of the games currently available.

--- Some may say simply "Ladders", this means a game for either ladder or both in one game. Meaning if you loose you will report to the ladder you are member of or both ladders. If you enter this game, be sure and state which ladder you wish to play for. Always clarify whether you wish to play for Cases, TH or for both. This way there is no confusion after the game has finished as to which ladder or ladders it was for.

--- Some may say "Cases/TH", the above example applies again, this game is for either ladder or both, and needs to be clarified before the game starts.

--- Some may say "Cases" this game is for cases only.

--- Some may say "TH" this game is for Tournament House only.

--- Sometimes the game may have an odd title that leads to no ladders whatsoever, if you wish to play this person for a ladder match, be sure and ask them prior.

*** Advice *** If you don't specifically know the player, or know that they are on any ladders, it is always good to do a search on either or both ladders for the player to ensure that they are in fact members. Several times I have played my heart out against and opponent, only to find in the end they weren't even members.

*** Advice *** Make sure your game name and your ladder names are exactly the same, this way there's no confusion as to who to report to, also always ask your opponent if their name is the same as on the ladders.

2.) Now that you know what to look for here are some simple rules.

- As the host it is your responsibility to supply the battle maps.

- As the guest you are allowed to first pick the map, take a good look at the map prior to play and pick which side you would like to play.

3.) After all of the above has been clarified, begin the game and play. When the outcome has been decided upon i.e. a winner has been declared in the match, one of you will need to report to the ladder(s).

- To report, simply go to the ladder(s) main page, and look for the link that is usually labeled "Report Loss". Click on this link, enter your name, the name and the name of your opponent, and click submit. This records the match between you two, and you have now completed a ladder match. Please exercise faith in reporting, discussed further on the next page.

- Both systems allow you to enter a brief description of the battle, or some statement if you wish. Please use this discretely, for once you have hit the submit button you cannot take it back. If you are a poor sport or decide to rip on the other player in any way, all the members of the ladder will see this, and may be unsure of your character or whether to even ever face off against you.

- TH has another option that need to be discussed, which is Hosting. On the report page you will see the drop down box labeled "Hosted"  here you need to input who was the host of the match. At TH the going rule is you cannot exceed 60% hosting, if you are in the top 20 there and exceed this number you will be penalized. The point behind this is to keep people from always hosting games, therefore using their "pet" maps and having a greater chance of advancing upwards on the ladder.

Well that pretty much covers it in a nutshell, if I've missed anything or feel the page needs further updating I will do so when I have time.
