I read this book three years after I was assaulted. It was the first book I had read in an attempt to find a way to heal, and I wish I had read it sooner. Me Ra Koh writes beautifully and courageously about her experience and how God is helping her to heal daily.
Little Girl Lost: One Woman's Journey Beyond Rape
Leisha Joseph tells her heartbreaking, yet triumphant story of her life before and after rape. Incredibly moving and motivational. This book's message screams, "YOU CAN DO THIS!!! IT CAN BE DONE!!!" I HIGHLY recommend it!
After Silence: Rape and My Journey Back
Reading this book will show you that you are not alone. Nancy Venable Raine talks extensively about the damaging effects of being silenced, and of keeping the secret.
Sexual Assault: Will I Ever Feel Ok Again?
Kay Scott writes passionately of the aftermath of agony that haunts the victims of rape. Yet with equal passion she offers a message of hope and healing-an invaluable resource for those who have been victimized and the people who love them
Every therapist, counselor, or friend of a woman who has been raped will value Journey to Wholeness. It teaches and reinforces what survivors must know and practice if they are to become whole again. Each chapter focuses on a particular rape-related topic, gives facts and information about rape and it's effect on the survivors, and guides you through a series of self-reflective exercises that involve thinking, feeling, and writing.
Telling: A Memoir of Rape and Recovery
This is a wonderful, amazing book, that both rape survivors and friends of survivors can benefit from.
"I am always crushed to hear people talk about the dreams they USED to have. Today they just plod along living day by day doing whatever they've fallen into. Is that the existance God created any of us for? Living without a passion and/or a dream is equal to not living at all. This book will respark that dream and respark your life."
I also recommend trying to find these books at any of the following sites:
