We, myself and a buddy have a pretty frightening story for you that hasnt quite ended yet....
The metropolitan state hospital in Waltham Mass has been abandoned for about a decade now.The buildings set on over 400 acres of land, there are around 15 buildings that at one point in the 1930's housed over 35,000 mental patients. These buildings are immense, each of them is 5 stories high , not counting that each has a basement and an attic. One of the buildings is the main building, this has about 7 neverending corridors, and if you walked the whole building, every room, every floor, you'd have walked at least 6-9 miles-it's that immense.....
Picture it being 10 at night in October, the moonlight gives these buildings silhoettes and life, I'll tell you from my own experience that talking about going into one of these buildings is one thing during the day, and 2 hours away from the site, but standing in front and talking about it is a different thing at night...
Anyhow, we went into the medical building first, this is a 5 story building, a place where labotomies, and medical experimental patient surgery happend, we stayed on the bottom floor of this building, we had 1 flashlight between us, around us are open metal doors, rooms with tables, rooms with bathtubs, rooms with sinks, and desks....All of the windows are borded up, all you see is what your flashlight shows you, I imagine it is the same during the day.....
We then explored most of the main building, the 9 mile coarse, we walked and walked and walked, up stairs, down stairs, left right, up stairs etc....this took us from 10:30 till midnight....
Then we decided to enter a small building with a sign in front that says-"Morgue" This is a three story building that is relativly small, a 40x40 size. We had to take about 60 screws out of a board that was blocking our entrance, this took at least a half an hour-the anticipation of what we may find equalled and surpassed the feeling of going to the top of a bridge to jump in the water, but not immediatly jumping in, but staring down into the water...
Anyhow, the path was clear-12:37 am, it's cold, it's dark, and it's a MORGUE OF AN ABANDONED MENTAL ASYLUM- there is nobody on the 400+ acres that we know of except for the 2 of us!!!!
We go in, and we explored the entire , and I mean ENTIRE building, and theres things in there that, well, let me just say-Most people, they only see a morgue once in thier life, and thats when they are deceased...in a morgue, there is no hiding that death is about, from the racks to the machines they used.....
I won't reveal anything else about these places, because one gets a feeling of self-violation upon completeing these tasks, but I will tell you this, photos are coming soon, we have to scan them, and I'll tell you something else...
Our plan is to each make a kit for each other with 4 envelopes in the kit, each envelope a mission to accomplish, with items to help you with the accomplishment, we each have four hours to complete the four missions, and each have to carry a videocamera the whole time, documenting that we really did complete our missions, this will be happening this month.
I'll tell you another thing-there is a difference from being in a morgue to being in the hospital section, and the difference is that the hospital plays on your immortal fears, while the morgue plays on mortal fears, there is also a silent violation, and sadness that overcomes you.
