Pitcairn

I know something of Pitcairn but something tells me that there is more to this story and to Pitcairn itself than I want to know. A few hundred years ago a family who's name was "Pitcairn" left there home in Europe for a new start somewhere else. From what I have heard when they left Europe they were millionaires then...what was probably four or five hundred years ago. They wandered around and settled and an island in the Pacific Ocean. This island is known even on maps as Pitcairn Island. At some point they moved from this island and settled in the United States. From what I had heard the entire family did not settle in one place. A sect of this family settled in northern California. Another one settled in Bryn Athyn, Montgomery County, Pa.

The number of people who had settled in Pa. were so few (originally there had only been twelve or thirteen of them) its been said that they were so scared that "other people" were going to marry into the family and take the money out of the family that they decided to keep the money in the family by inbreeding. These original family members married and had children with one another. Of course this lead to mass deformities in many of the children that were born to them. Massive physical and mental retardation along with insanity and many of the children being born sterile were all quite common. The inbreeding went on for many hundreds of years, until within the last hundred years or so they stopped marrying within the family and now only marry within their own religion. I believe that they are Christians, but specifically what type I do not know.

To this day the family does own a whole hell of a lot. Besides Pitcairn Toyota in I believe it's Langhorne, Pa, they are heavily into real estate. Now as I understand it not only do they own there estate of Glencairn I believe they call it, they own the entire town of Bryn Athyn. The entire thing. Glencairn is like two or three hundred acres by my own best estimates. The entire town of Bryn Athyn is like an extra one thousand acres. They own there own cathedral, a huge church that is set facing perpendicular to the mansion. They do also own and control a collage that is right across the street from Glencairn.

Pitcairn is located approximately one or two miles north of Redlion Rd. where Redlion Rd. ends at Huntington Pike in Mont. Co. If you take a little trip up Pitcairn I'm warning you now they do not take kindly to visitors. If any members of the family or of the congregation to their church see anyone they believe to be suspicious they may call the police and/or they may decide to chase after you on foot or in a car if they have one. I myself have been chased after snooping around at their estates by someone... on foot with a flash light... while I was leaving. I thought that guy was going to take down my license plate and I would get a ticket in the mail from the Mont. Co. Police Dept. like a month later. I suppose that's like a worse case senerio,... thank God it did not happen like that at all. I have been pulled over by the Mont. Co. Police in Glencairn. Unfortunately I was not driving. You see my license was good,... my friend who was driving had a suspended license and got a $267.00 fine for driving without a valid driver's license. Its even been said that in addition to the Mont. Co. Police the Pitcairn's have their own police force patrolling the area in and around Bryn Athyn

There is a cemetery in Glencairn which has most of the Pitcairn family members who have ever died in Pa. buried their. There is probably atleast four hundred graves in that cemetery. It is generally the star attraction for what most people are looking when they go snooping around up their. I have one piece of advice for anyone who wants to go driving around the Pitcairn estates. Don't go up their without a 4x4 or an all wheel drive and chose something that is base heavy. If its to top heavy you can flip over and you will be screwed!!! And even though most of the roads are paved some of them are not and it can be real easy to break down on any of those roads. Do you want to go a knockin at someone's door when your on their private property. I bet if you do you'll get a gun stuck in your face and there probably won't be a shortage of guns for them to chose from. It's a long walk back to civilization if you do decide to walk and you will regret it!
