The Love of Bullion
by Peter Alan Smith
Where can I find the sweet
taste of bullion
in the country of Argentina?
Nowhere.
The llamas have stolen
all the pots and are
selling them at ludicrous
prices.
(Their cohorts are
the Chilean lobsters)
I had to borrow money
from a 29.5% interest loan shark--
(by collateral, my life)--
he gave me two weeks
to pay it off.
I went to the hideout
of the llamas and lobsters
(with the help of a group
of aardvarks)
and bought five gallons
of bullion from the black
market and left.
The plane from Argentina to Chicago
took nearly six hours
(I had to hold off a passenger
who wanted a taste of my hoard--
I told him to go to Argentina.)
When I got home, I locked
myself in and hid my bullion.
The world is a terrible
place since the lobsters and llamas
stole all the bullion.
But I got mine
and I will never go back
to Argentina.
