Responsibility
by Gregory M. Thompson
I felt lonely, though you were just a room away
Can these past days simmer and say goodbye?
I only wish happiness, I only wish love
Day turns into night, the present turns into the past
And dreams awake.
I wish the tender moments of yesterday will return--
I miss that.
But I'll take responsibility
For the heartache I have caused you
And I'll take responsibility
For the sadness between us,
And give you a rose.
