I'm pleased to present this issue, with its focus on five writers. Each voice is unique, and is represented by five pieces, giving the reader a clearer view of craft, language, and emotion.

As an introduction to the issue, a strong poem by Dorianne Laux gives rise to the brutal force of our own personal and fragile histories. Evie Shockley, Dee Rimbaud, Lightsey Darst, and Jim McCurry are appearing in Blue Fifth Review for the first time, and I welcome them. Three contributors return to these pages: J. P. Dancing Bear, Ann Lederer, and Leslie Marcus. The combination is impacting.

Enjoy.
