looking for love

i was looking for love in all the wrong places
looking for love [with too many faces?]...

Broke Kitty's newest goal is to find ways to say things generally, without being too specific. A wise woman once said, "Saying it all is like exposing your poonaany to the world."

A few notes of disappointment and a few notes of celebration. Disappointments: when friends are not happy to be in your presence, when employers or supervisors are not pleased with your work. Is the struggle worth it? How does one negotiate not receiving praise or support after working so hard? Does this point to a time to jump ship, start anew? If this were the case, one might jump ship several times a day.

Changing perspectives. In a book called _Feeling Good_, the author recommends changing the way we think and talk about things. For example, instead of saying, "I had a shitty day today. I gave a crap presentation, and I'm not a priority in my friends' lives," you would say, "Today has been very challenging. I'm glad I finished the semester, and I'm glad I got to see my friends." The author of this book looks like a water delivery guy from the Twilight Zone-- almost Joker-like with his fake smile and bugged out eyes. What's the difference between being honest with yourself and going along with the program?

So many questions, no answers. What's the best way to please everyone? By pleasing yourself?

Holidays: spiritual freedom, financial bondage.

Get on with it,
