~*Chathouse Zine*~
Editors Note I've heard a few things around the Chathouse™ that some think this should be called the Diner `Zine or Joe's `Zine due to the fact that last weeks issue had mostly to do with the chatters of Joe's Diner. Well, we want everyone to feel included. We're working on different ideas of how to include the rest of the house more, but with little input coming from the other floors it is or was kind of hard. Then... the last few days we've begun to recieve a few things from other floors and have been working on ideas to include the other rooms, and I've decided that we may just have to come to you!!!! Beware *wicked laugh*... *S*. IF you haven't read it in your forum yet... Don't be surprised if you see YOUR name in the Chathouse `Zine!!!!

You can easily spend hours there at her site alone!! Each month she dedicates it to someone and one month it was MEEEEE, goes to show it could be anyone *LOL*. There are tons of links and pictures, tons to see and read. Definatly worth a look *S*, I go about once a month, but SHHH don't tell her that!!!

AND THE SURVEY SAYS???
JudgeDriveway™

First I want everyone to know that I was going to take this article out due to certain things that irked and upset me, then I thought NO. For two reasons #1. I know and am adult enough to realize that this `zine is for all the chatters, not just me. #2. I am also adult enough to realize that the things I did that I am referring to here caused someone else to feel possibly as bad as I did. *S* Please take the time to read this and try to look at the issue from EVERY view point.
Because I found myself to be somewhat hipocritical at one point this week I've decided to ask a question of everyone. I thought I knew my answer until questions were brought up that totally threw me for a loop. I then tossed out what logic came to mind, but they didn't solve the puzzle of where the line should be drawn between what is suitable for public chat and what should be left to PM (here I am referring to a PUBLIC room on the next level where all ages come to chat). Should it depend on the details used, the words used or even just the innuendo? Almost any post if taken out of context might hold some kind of implication, should those too be considered 'going too far'? I understand there are ignore buttons *that don't always stay clicked* and I understand that it IS a public room; things are bound to be said. But because it is a public room there have been children as young as 12 in there!!! Not to mention that when it gets too graphic it does get offensive. But then the same questions come up... What is too offensive? What is too graphic? This room is known for having some pervish chatters (ie: we have a FreakPervB*tch and we gave out a PervAward), but we're all going to have to draw the line at one point or another. We have had little strip shows (but none of them go into gross detail about the human anatomy), they've played strip twister (again without detail of position or anotomy), they've even had public exhibition challenges (done on dares and usually those involved offer to go PM with the judges and it's left up to the room if this should be done)... Do these things make those of us who watch or participate in them hipocrites for having a little fun?? I'd have to say that in all honesty to myself and all of you that I do believe in some way it does.

I understand we can't make all the people happy all the time, but can't we try to at least make or keep our fellow chatters happy about the room's they call theirs?? SO where should this line be drawn? How should we, as chatters know when to switch to PM?
Replies to this will be in next weeks issue, send them to ch_zine@hotmail.com and type SURVEY in the subject line please.

Featured Chatters of the Week
Kimber™
Mr. Bigglesworth

Handles: Mr. Bigglesworth

How did you come up with the handle? Well, I think the handle was simply taken out of Austin Powers because I loved the name and it seemed like a character that I could really build a personality in Joe's with... Mr.Bigglesworth never said a word in the movies... doesn't it seem logical that people would wanna talk to him and see what he thinks too? *L* I have always been someone that keeps things inside in my real life too and it seems different in chat ... I can open up and so I figured Mr.Bigglesworth would be a good transitional character to choose because he's so quiet in the movies *L*

Location: Madison, Wisconsin

Chatting: I've been chatting for 5 or 6 years now, I started chatting my senior year in high school when it was a relatively new thing and when I got my first computer and my trial of AOL *L* I got out of there quick and did a little search of chatrooms and found The Chathouse and explored around in there for a year or two before... exclusively becoming a regular in Joe's. I think I really became an addict in chatrooms when I was home recovering from my wisdom teeth being pulled *L*

Age and Sign: I'm 22 and my zodiac sign is Cancer (not that I believe in that sh*t or anything)

Marital Status: heart broken and single for a while

Kids: love them, but not looking to have any for at least 5 or 6 years until I get myself a little more stable and set in a relationship and a job I love... not to mention a location *L*

Pets: I have a few little fishies in my apartment that swim around the building algae in their tank and back home we have a cute little white fluffy doggie that is getting really old now. He's so sweet though, gives me kisses everytime I come home. hehehe, I love dogs and cats but ironically, I'm allergic to them *L* another reason that I chose a bald kitty *L*

Profession: College Student at the moment.. Profession? Geez, I hope I get to that level someday *L* Well, I'm a sociologist my major I guess but my area of specialty is demography and research and analysis in that area.

Hobbies and Interests: Hobbies? ummm... chatting, camping, fishing, golfing, soccer, long deep talks in a variety of settings, watching the sunset/sunrise, traveling, ummmm.... that good enough?

Music Preferences: Well, I have lots and lots of favorite music groups and singers but I think it all comes down to what kinda of mood I'm in at the time... that'll usually drive what kind of music I listen to... I do have a couple of groups that I can't stand though..

Pet Peeves: Pet Peeves? hmmmm... yes I do have a few of those too... the big one is girls that play guys and guys that treat women bad... other than that... the people below me with their loud music, bad breath, sour milk, moldy bread, the lines in my TV, doing the dishes, doing my laundry, and a few professors *L*

Motto or quote to live by: oh I have a funny quote and a serious quote that I love....

Funny Quote: "I'd rather have this bottle in front of me than a frontal labotomy" - unknown
Serious Quote: "There is no such thing as a 'self-made' man. We are made up of thousands of others. Everyone who has ever done a kind deed for us, or spoken one word of encouragement to us, has entered into the make-up of our character and of our thoughts, as well as our success." -George Matthew Adams

Anything else that you'd like people to know about you? well, they all know me pretty good already and if they want to know anything else about me they can ask but if people don't know that I have a third nipple by now you can tell them *L*

Changes or improvements that you'd like to see at the Chathouse™: ok, this is gonna be a serious answer... I know a lot of people in Joe's and made a lot of really good friends in there... I don't know how but I would like to be able to still talk like I used to with some of the people I know in there... things have changed and I guess that's natural but I would like to keep some of my friendships with people in there as strong as they used to be

*~Ðëshåntë~*
Handles:*~Ðëshåntë~* (Deshante) Wishy and Wishmaster

How did you decide on your handle? I came up with Wishmaster because when I first came into a chatroom I noticed only certian handles got any attention. With wishmaster I had a lot of people asking me for wishes, which was the perfect lineup for smartass answers, *L* and then everybody considered as a 'reg' in the room begins ta notice ya.

Location:Southern California.. A valley girl.. *L*

About chatting …I started chatting in the FishTank, about two years ago...After a month of that I started going to the Halloween Party, was a 'reg' there for a year or so... Unfortunately, everybody started getting tense with each other, and the room sorta fell apart, so everybody started going to new rooms. I've been in The Great Hall, The Assylum, and a few of the Role Playing rooms when I had a RP character.

Age:Will be 18 in September...I'm a Virgo *g*

Marital status:~l~ Well actually I'm engaged *vvvvvbs*

How did you meet? We met one night last August in the Halloween Party, because of his handle…"VegittA"….which is this really wicked character in a cartoon called DragonBall Z. We hooked up on ICQ. I think for a day and a half he thought I was a guy because of my handle ~L~

Have you met offline? *vvvvbs* Just recently… He came here about three weeks ago, and bought me a ring, he was too polite to ever ask me before we'd actually met face to face. I'm going to his place in June and July.

*S* How did the meeting go? I was incredibly lucky, my mom let him stay here, and really trusted me around him. The very night my mom and I picked him up from the airport we hit it off perfectly. It felt so, incredibly wonderful to hug him for real. We went to Disneyland, and saw movies together, I dragged him bowling with me, we took a lot of pictures. Yeah Scott was really happy, he kept saying "HA! We beat the odds and proved 'em wrong!"…He was really happy about that ~l~ I don't see why things wouldn't have worked out well, we'd known each other for 6 months before he came, we are crazy in love with each other, I've helped him through some really rough times and he's done the same for me. Scott is 20 and lives in Victoria , Canada.

What would you like to do for a profession?Well college is definite, as to what for....Zoology, law, or biology are interests to me, I'm still deciding as to which one would be best.

Children:Kids? ~l~ No, I really, really don't believe in sex before marriage, which is prolly why my mom's so trusting of me ~l~ No kids, well, one if you count Sadie *giggle* She's a Great Dane. My lil Girl.

Pets: There's Sadie, White fang, Shazta, those are the dogs. Then Wizard the lizard...Pip the LoveBird, and Dende the Cerry Head Conure. Thats it for pets *s*

Hobbies or other interests:Humm...I'm a real Animal Activist, I used to have a large Bird rescue operating at my home.... Still do actually. I design tank and cage enclosures freelance, for example, a friend of mine had a monitor, a 4 1/2 foot lizard, I designed a enclosure for him about the size of half a room, that's a hobby of mine... I used to design web pages for people too *s*

What type of music do you like? Hummm... my brother sorta raised me on MegaDeth and Metallica, so I love the older stuff of that, I also love music without lyrics, like Enigma. I'm game for just about any time of music… except Teenie Bopper stuff...

What are your pet peevees? Hummm...Naive, self absorbed, backstabbing, egotistical people.... that covers a lot *lol* Teenage Girls totally obsessed with sex irritate me, sales people who are blessed with the gift of knowing everything possible who want to share their vast knowledge with you are on my list too ~l~

Motto you really like or a quote to live by…. …. Ack, I forgot who originally said this, but…."To know is nothing, to imagine is everything."

Is there anything else that you'd like others to know about you? Just that at this point right now, I am incredibly happy with my life, and everything and everyone in it.

What improvements or changes would you like to see made at the Chathouse™? I miss the room backgrounds! The Halloween Party had such an awesome background and then poof! They up n' took it off for no reason! And the whole place is crawling with advertisements now, although I do like how they offer forums now. *s*

Flames
By ~~~~LEFTEYE~~~~

flames burning deep
heat riseing up
one look in your eyes
i know it must be lust
maybe something else is there too
i am just scared to admit it
because maybe i wont recieve
what i feel towards u
and i will just regret it

flames burning deep
the heat keeps rising
i keep looking in your eyes
and my heart just starts pounding
i cannot control what its saying
or what it is doing to me
all i know is
i am scared to admit it what its feeling

the flames are dying now
but the heat is still in the air
my heart is still the same
this feeling is never going to go away

Joe's Diner
By Josie™

I stumbled across this romm on the Next Level in the Chathouse,
Unless you type all caps you can be considered quiet as a mouse.

We have had several laughs as well as our ups and downs,
My favorite times are when we act like childish clowns.

Over a period of time you become more than just a friend,
And you know that person will be there through thick and thin.

You get hooked chatting and being online,
When you see those for which you care how your spirits shine.

To sum all this up......nothing could be finer,
Then chatting with family and friends who gather in Joe's Diner.

I Took A Dip In The Hot Tub
Michigan Storm™

I was looking to find out more about the Chathouse® and it's chatters so I ventured into the elevator and down to the first floor, here I went down the hall and found the Hot Tub. I thought that sounded like a good place to relax so I let myself in, I have a key to all the rooms it's called a password *L*. I was in cognito of course, and I trust those who chatted with me last night (Thursday 4•6•00) will keep my undercover identity a secret so that I may still roam the Chathouse® in secret to continue my work on the `zine.
I entered the room with a few flutterbies in my tummy, kind of nervous after hearing 'things' about the first floor and never having been there myself. But soon my nervousness abated and I found myself being greeted by a few chatters at first and friendly smiles from those I spoke to. I broke the ice by asking a simple question, "Can anyone tell me who the regs are in this room?". As a few answered more added and soon I found I was lucky enough to have come into the room when most of the regulars were there. I had a great time in the Hot Tub, one of the greatest times I've had chatting in a long time!!! Everyone was friendly and chat•a•tive. Babygirl greeted new chatters as they entered the room and everyone was willing to chat. I noticed that like Joe's Diner, where I call home, they too did NOT like strangers entering their PMs uninvited, but were not too harsh *L*.
I went in planning to just gather a few things for the paper and was having such a good time I stayed nearly two hours! It was the most friendly and fun room I've entered into in a VERY long time!!! Maybe since I walked into the Diner the first time... I'd like to take a minute to thank those that made me feel comfortable and took the time to answer my questions AND to let them know I am NOT a tele•marketing dominatrix *LMAO*. So, a special thank you to all of you at the Hot Tub: SHELBI, *the twins* Soul Kiss & Renee, DW'sTallJim, Babygirl32, Rickster, Texas Trouble and any of you I may not have mentioned, thank you too. Next time you all see me, I'll probably swing by under my regular handle... well ONE of them *LMAO*.

Respecting Others Opinions As Such
well here is my column kinda a mixture of thought and inspiration *S* as Im sure you can guess by the title I picked that this about having respect for others thoughts and ideas even if it isnt what you think or agree with, sometimes by opening our minds to others we can learn things and even maybe see a different point of view..it is however much simpler sometimes to cast aspersions *(love big words)* and just go off thinking your opinion is the only one that matters and is right, but think what do you have to lose by actually HEARING someone else's besides a few moments of your time...*L* just something to think about and yes it is my opinion *G*
Have a Great Week Everyone!!!

There have been ads placed in the Joe's Diner Forum, the regulars there are looking for someone to do some remodeling. They're taking virtual-bids *L*, one of the issues they're focussing on is that the ladies bathroom needs more stalls. Some of the men and contractors don't want to deal with that. So please, if you frequent Joe's or even just drop by once in a while... Take a ribbon and wear it or place it on your homepage!!!

Thanks for your support!!
