Michigan Storm™ Unless I am misunderstanding some of the questions asked in the g-book and in email I'm gathering that some of our readers do not usually chat inside the House. I've read more than a few questions about "how does this work" or "I can't get this to work". Perhaps they're mistaking this zine for the actual chatsite? IF you're reading this right now and came upon the zine in search of a chatsite we can help, but THIS is NOT a chatsite. *S* Are you ready to chat with some of the best chatters on the net? Click HERE or go to www.chathouse.com. This will bring you to the front door of the house where you can simply click on a public floor so that you need not register OR you can look through the options, the news page. However my suggestion is to look down the little list on the left side of the screen and click on New Visitors [CLICK HERE] to go to the same page. *S* Perhaps the Help page [click here] may be of some help *S*. Hope this helps *S*. | LadyGreenEyes™ Internet Relationships: Do they work? Have you ever been involved in a relationship online? How did it work out? Would you ever get involved again? Would you encourage others or discourage others from getting involved with someone they've met online? What happy tales or horror stories do you have to share? Now's your chance to be heard and contribute to an upcoming Zine article on online romances. Send your responses to Internet Relationships by no later than June 18, 2000. ~blue eyes~ Well, here is Heavenly_Blue_Eyes again. I have kept up with the Enzine. Looks as though not alot of Cloud 10ners like to read news! Absolutely no mention of Cloud 10 in the past 3 months. Oh well. There is news. A friend of mine that I will leave nameless is finally in LUV!!! In 8 days he will "be holding her in his arms again." This is from a person that no one in the chat thought would find love. So congrats to you! Some of the "older" people from the chat are coming back slowly but surely. So welcome back! WHERE HAVE YOU BEEN??? *L*. Had sorta of a reunion between Grave and Sexyfemale this past two weeks. Sexy apparently lost her internet.. so welcome back! Another person, Shimmer, came back also. Her computer broke down. :( So welcome back to you! Handsome! Devil and I are proud to say that we have successfully purchased our first Home! It is a beautiful Double-Wide Trailer with spacious rooms. Indian Girl, my best friend off cyber land is doing well in school, and is going to be a paralegal in May of 2001!! So happy for her! Not many people know her due to the fact that she doesn't go to the chat much. Like I said earlier, though, since the update with Cloud 10 alot of people are not coming back. So we will miss you bunches. :( *hugs* More news later. |

"I feel that the Forum is a place to voice your opinion mostly, and to have fun with it. There is always a limit to things in life, which includes the Forum, but who is it to say what can and can't be posted? To me, I post things to my friends saying thank you, birthdays or opinions on what is happening in Joe's. Now I don't bring my personal affairs in like what I had for breakfast or anything, but I do post special messages to some. I, like most people, read everything posted. It is a public forum which means I can, right? I'm sorry if maybe some of them are not meant for my eyes, but if something is meant to be for one's eyes only, then that's what email is for."
--nympho fairy™
"Usually I like the Forum. It's a great way to send out little messages to everyone or to someone in particular for birthdays, anniversaries, or just posting random thoughts, poetry, or role playing. The Forum becomes a problem when it's filled with fights and arguments. I've been put in the Forum, not specifically by name, but the tone of the posts and what was written made it obvious who it was about. What angered me most is that no one bothered to email me privately or talk to me in PM before posting something for everyone else to read. People are screaming about Freedom of Speech in the Forum and I'm all for it because it's a guaranteed right in the Constitution, but aren't I guaranteed life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness by the same document? My pursuit of happiness got squashed when my private business got posted. So whose 'right' is more important? Does anyone bother to think about that?"
"I like the Forum...I know it is used sometimes for fighting and things it should not be...but everyone has their say...if something should happen to me...my hubby could post it there...since he does not know everyone I chat with...he could let everyone know...if they cared...*s*...or if it was him that could not chat...*s*...people know what right and wrong are...some want to push the limit...but it is a good place to let off steam and say hey to friends you can't catch up with...like now I can't get online much because of a family emergency...but I can scan the Forum...I like it and just wanted to say it...because a few think we don't need it...well maybe we don't...but it sure is nice to post something everyone can see and know that if I can't be here to chat that people will know I am still here or that I care."
"I'm sure nobody wants to hear my opinion, but I'm entitled, after all isn't that what everyone's point was about a month ago?
Did they not have a cow in Joe's Diner saying that the forum was open & public, meaning that ANYONE COULD POST ANYTHING.
*but those same people then jumped all over other people for doing so*.
I think the forums are for
KEEPING IN TOUCH. In my opinion they are not there for us [including myself] to tell our life stories,
they're not there to attack each other, they're not there for most of what we use them for actually. These
"forums" are message boards, simply for the use of the people to keep in touch with others, to LEAVE A MESSAGE. Get it?
Nearly everyone of us is using it for more, and I guess as long as it don't cause problems then it is no big deal. However, some of it
does... I think anything that is even in the slightest bit personal should be left for PM or email and if
you don't have the addy of the person use one of Chathouse's little thingys OR Leave a MESSAGE in the
"forum" asking them for their email addy eh??? Now the rooms we chat in are actually FORUMS, have you ever noticed when you exit a room what the
button says? It says EXIT FORUM. Yes, a forum is a public MEETING PLACE, that is why I see the "forum" we
are discussing as nothing more than a *say it with me boys and girls* MESSAGE BOARD.
AND as if that isn't enough, I'm sick of people [including myself], I am a big enough person to admit I too am guilty,
attacking others for what they say without TRYING to find out what they mean by it. [refraining from listing examples] Well, I've already went over my limit *L* and probably
still won't make sence to some.. *holding up a box of crayolas*"--JudgeDriveway™
"There's far too much, bit©hin', pi$$ing & moaning in
the diner forum lately. Okay, sometimes it makes
amusing reading but other times it's disappointing to
read how fu©ken pathetic alot of ppl are being in
there when normally they're such easy going, friendly
people. I reckon that if anyone's gotta do some
bit©hing or other $hitheaded stuff, they should take
it straight to the person they have a greavence with
and keep it outta the forum.
"My thoughts on the forums are rather complicated. By
one hand I love them, and by the other I hate them.
Gosh it sounds like I'm talking about a man or
something. *L* But no no, I am speaking in reference
to the chathouse forums. When the forums were first
introduced I of course thought I was so cool posting a
million times in a row. They were fun in the begining.
Then it became apparent, the forums would be a tool
for destruction and utter annoyance. Take for instance
a chatter no longer welcome, it gave them the
opportunity to bug the hell out of everyone, by
posting rude things. Then take your "I need attention
posters". God forbid something happened in the room
and people missed it. This gave that attention needer
the opportunity to utilize the forum. Posting about
every little thing in the forum. Bringing a useless
fight or conversation to it. "Hey just incase anyone
missed it, Chatter #053 called me fat." Or take those
people that adapt fake handles, no not imps. (I'll get
to those later) Some people who didn't have the balls
to say things as their regular handles. Miss I am nice to
everyone, until I am different handle in the forum.
That would piss me off the most. I am a very blunt
person, but since I speak my mind, I get pinned with
unfair things sometimes. So of course those fake
handle posters, were always assumed to be me. (In my
forum that is) Now on to the imps..ahhhhh here we go.
*L* I myself have mastered the art of imping someone
in the forums. Although I don't do it anymore, at one
time I did. It can be another annoying factor of the
forums. People get into fights that shouldn't be, and
of course drama pursues. Which has been my point so
far. There's alot of drama associated with the forums.
But I also think there's alot of good as well. Take
for instance my webpage. (Shameless plug in progress)
I made a whole site out of a forum fight. Incase
anyone hasn't seen it go
here. Or take your chatters that don't come around
to often. It gives them a chance to say hello to
everyone in one easy post. (All shameless page plugs
finished, btw) So to wrap all this nonsense up. The
forums are annoying, partially entertaining, and gives
us all a chance to have an audeince when need be. Oh
and lets not forget it lets us all be advertising
whores with our useless webpages! *L*"--KoRnQueen
One of the staffers at Chathouse™ replied inadvertently to our poll because one of the responses accidentally wound up in the Chathouse™ email and apparently looked like a complaint, but the answer to the initial comment was a positive one. Chathouse™ will remove any posts from the Forum which are found to be offensive. They need only be notified of offending posts because they do not review the Forums to search for something which may be considered offensive to a particular person. If something offends you in the Forum, email Chathouse™ and let them know. They will review the post and remove it, if necessary. But please keep in mind, the staff of Chathouse™ is busy and cannot entertain continuously repeated requests for post removals. In other words, don't abuse the privilege. You can help cut down on the negative opinions regarding the Forum, AND the problems within your chat room by monitoring your OWN behavior as well. Are you one of the people complaining the loudest but contributing to the problem by keeping a fight going with post after post? Do you post things in the Forum that blame other people, by name or not, for arguments or disputes among chatters? How would you feel if someone did that to you? Do you post when your temper has flared and you aren't looking at the situation in a calm or rational manner? Think about it the next time you get ready to click the "Submit" button...are you going to be part of the problem, or part of the solution?

This article is at the moment still an ongoing investigation [*shaking head* that sounds so strange] and all of my sources
shall remain anonymous. I have recieved so many reports via email & icq on the subject of a once [thought] deceased chatter, ~~~ro$ie~~~. When
we first posted the special edition of the zine in her & Shari's honor we did so to try to help
those who cared about both of these women and to later be told that ro$ie had faked it all was beyond belief.
We didn't believe any of this at first but as we further investigate it seems that perhaps a certain chatter from PA has arisen from
the grave for what most say is not the first time. Rumor has it that she was already dead
when she died in this car accident, apparently she had faked her death before. But still,
it's hard to imagine anyone doing such a thing and letting everyone feel so bad for her "daughter"
and sitting back and enjoying it? How healthy is that? #4: ~~~ro$ie~~(#803.782.700.662)

"I just read the Memorial Day edition. I want to comment on the mail bag. What the one chatter said about going into Joe's Diner and not getting a hello, is true. I've been down to The Last Call many times before and have always been greeted upon arrival. Actually, in nearly all of the registered rooms one is greeted. I've learned that in the non-registered rooms, you take your chances. I'm not saying no one ever greets you, but in my experience it is rare. There are regs in some that make a point to greet.
Well, that's my voice... Great 'zine. Informative. Keep it up!"--DRAGONLASS
