Editors Note: ermm Happy Father's Day to all the daddy's and daddy's to be. *S* Happy Father's day to my SugarDaddy *LOL*. Don't ask!! If you haven't seen the Special Edition made in our honor by KoRn Queen and Fallon check it out at http://www.geocities.com/x_filter/zine/index.html They did a great job and we would like to say THANK YOU *VBAS*
hmmmm... Not alot to say, so let's get on with it eh?? Michigan Storm™
Father's Day Tribute
Kimber™

I spent some time the past couple of nights popping into different rooms on almost all the floors of Chathouse™. I posted this message:

"I'm Kimber™ from the Zine.. This Sunday is Father's Day and I'm looking for some help.. We need comments for this week's issue..

Perhaps a brief memory of your dad, A piece of advice that your dad gave you that you'll never forget…Something like a phrase that you remember your dad always saying..

Any one willing to comment? "

*S* I got the replies that follow and when reading through them, you'll see just how varied the responses are.. some wonderful…some really awful…. Others funny and yet others providing great memories or words of wisdom. In many of the rooms I visited, chatters just stated that the memories concerning their fathers weren't that good and because of that didn't want to comment. Others chatter's stated that their step fathers treated them so much better than their fathers did..and they were grateful for the "real men" who stepped into their lives and assumed that important role.. All this proving a couple of things…. (1) It's not the provider of the seed that counts, it's the one who does the nurturing of that seed. (2.) Any one can be a Father, but it takes someone SPECIAL to be a Daddy.

Wishing a Very Happy Father's Day to all the Daddys out there!!!!

Queen Cataryna: Dad said "YOUNG LADY! DO YOU KNOW WHAT TIME IT IS?"*L* and now I'm the one telling him that..funny how the parenting roles change as we get older..

STUMPY: "Find something you are good at and stick with it" and the other one was "why doesn't anybody send a donkey to school?...Because nobody like a smartass"

Pedigre: Kimber>> he told me once, "You may be a lot taller than me, but I can still whoop ya'" *LOL* how about that? hmm..he always that "fags" had earrings when i got mine...now he has a ponytail... *LOL*

Big Boi: "Get off your ass boy!" *L*

~jennifer~: kimber, um lets see, that you have been a great dad to me all these years and I appreciate it!

Ciedstr: my Dad always told me: "do as I say, NOT as I do"...I plan to use it when my son gets older.*LOL*

~angel~ : i remember my dad always telling me to honest and true to myself and to anyone i truly love

4848: my dad always said respect and be respected *S*

The One: Hey Kimber, One of the best memories I have of my dad, or thing that I learned is: My father has always been very strict and has raised me to think for myself and know what is right and wrong, and how to live right. I was honored at my high school graduation with two awards that are only given to one senior a year. When I came home with the awards, I said to my dad, "Do you know why I won these awards?" I won these awards because of what you taught me, and how you raised me, you showed me how to live right and how to think for myself. Without that guidance I wouldn't have these, all thanks and praise goes to you, Dad."

Parthanon™: Meet the day with laughter...anyone can cry at its tragedy, but you can tell the people who are strong by the laugh lines around their eyes...because they choose to laugh rather than cry

Str@ngR: Kimber> The thing I remember about my dad before he died is his saying " Will you get this F**king Kid away from me?"

Hooty McBoob™: kimber i have wonderful memories of my dad!!! he taught me all i know in life and will be forever grateful to him for that...but sadly i do miss him!!!

WordArtist : Kimber .... the most valuable gift a father can pass along is to teach his son to be just that: a father. You cannot define fatherhood .. it's a package of love, respect, compassion and dedication rolled into a man who works hard to assure that a family is just that: A family.

fair maiden™: about my daddy? He's the best and most wonderful man in the world and I couldn't have been blessed with a better father had I of made him up from my own imagination! He's funny, smart, and a general fix-it-man *S* He will help anyone in distress and the quality I admire about him most is his integrety. He's the same no mater who's there, never saw a dark side of him EVER! He's the best father in the whole world *BAS* but am I being

MI Storm™: Hmmm... Dad? My dad LOVES to push my buttons, he absolutely thrives on it. *L* We love to argue with each other. I think that I remember most him telling me "sure, you can borrow it... IF you can afford to replace it." Hahahaha

mrs. Captain's beauty {C} Rs : sure Kimber, my dad always told me .."Never say Never" ~S~

Tall Jim: Kimber, wanna know what I remember most about my dad? Him saying to my mom, "Hey, the lil F$##@ng retard did it again!"

Mistress Angel: Kimber I would like to say all Fathers are special. I personally did not actually have a good relationship with Mine until about 6 years ago when I turned 23. But they are all good in there own ways. I learned from My father to be Myself and not worry about what others think of Me as long as I like Myself. I love My dad very much and would do anything for him.~S~

Lady_Mystique: Kimber.... "Dad tried with what little he had..."

§pi®@£ is Sorry: Kimber...My only memories of dad right now involve the many different ways he can snore *L* I remember we were camping once, and in the trailer some people were napping cuz it was a real lazy day....Dad slept on one couch, Uncle was on the other...One snored like a pigsqueal, the other snored like a chainsaw...And then they switched! It was funny cuz they each kept switiching..

She's got Marty Feldon eyes: My dad always said "It's raining bullshit, and pitchforks to spread it with, out there".

Kritter: I was my dad's fav...smug smile *giggle* he used to always get me extra gifts for christmas and my b'days....after everyone was gone or whatever, he'd slip some little thing into my hand or my pocket....a piece of jewelry. .or a gag gifty...but always something just between he and I:when I got older it became $100 bills....
Kimber..he was incredible ..what I wouldn't give for another day...another hour with him..*VBS* always the dark sense of humor....chuckling under his breath:.at the silliest things.. especially when it irritated my mom...

~Debby~ in a Indiana Pacers T-Shirt: Kimber..*S* the most memorable thing my dad said to me was when I left for college.. *L* and I quote.. " You come home w/a black man for a b/f and I'll shoot you both"……*LOL*.. words to live by for sure.

Want to thank all the fantastic people I had the pleasure of meeting and chatting with over the past couple of days gathering these comments ….for welcoming me into the rooms and participating for this article.. *S* You were all great..

Ro$ie
Josie™

Hurt and Confuzed *ro$ie*

I need to get something off my chest so to speak. Some time back we were all notified of the death of ro$ie. It now appears that she "IS NOT" dead and I want my opinion heard.
I "once" considered myself a friend of ro$ie, I cared for this woman a lot. When I was told of her "death", I was in shock!!!!! I wasn't sure how to react to the news, I hadn't chatted with her in quite a long time but yet she was a friend that we all "assumed" was dead. I had to learn to deal with the "assumed" death and I did grieve, even wrote a poem for you and another who "did" lose her life. I am ashamed to have you name mentioned in this dedication now.
Now it seems we have all been played. I must say that I am VERY upset by all this and CANNOT believe this could happen again. Yes, I said again but that is another story.
ro$ie, I DO NOT understand why you felt you had to betray everyone like this. If what you needed was to get away from "certain" people then you should have changed your handle and only told those you wanted to remain in contact with who it really was. This was "unforgiveable" and wherever you are I certainly hope you are happy with yourself!!!
There is a saying I feel is true in this situation: "With friends like you who needs enemies?" I will NEVER understand why you felt you "needed" to do this NOR will I condone such behavior. Wherever you are....stay there. I will no longer consider "you" a friend of mine. Friends don't betray other friends to this extent.
We all have disagreements from time to time but that is life. But this is just TOO low in on the ladder to climb back up.
I have said my peace and I remind everyone that this is "MY" opinion. Enjoy the bed you made ro$ie, you are the one that has to lie in it!!!

My Take On Things
Ocelot

Let me first start off by saying the views expressed here are entirely my own and have no reflection on the chathouse or the zine. So please if you feel the need to respond in any way to this, DO NOT send emails to the zine or chathouse, I will supply an email addy so you can send them directly to me.

Ok, now onto my reasons for writing this:

    I. To address the forum fights.
II. To address the "unfriendliness" described about Joe's Diner.
III. To address the zine itself.

I.The Forum Fights
For the longest time I have kept my fingers still upon the keyboard and resisted replying to any of the fights going on in the forum. But now I wish to address this issue. As stated before in the forum, the forum is public domain. People can post whatever they wish to. However.. shouldn't we take it upon ourselves to act responsibly and to have respect for others, be it in chat or the forum? I have always believed that if you have respect for others you must have respect for yourself first. So before you post a reply to someone's message think, are you representing yourself as an adult with respect for others, or have you sunk back to being in kindergarden and your sole purpose of replying is to be catty.

II. The "unfriendliness" of Joe's Diner.
I have been chatting in Joe's for a little over a year now, and upon my first entrance I was greeted by Gylar™, whom to this day I am still friends with. But I have a question for those who have recently entered Joe's..What was your purpose in entering the room? I have welcomed everyone that comes into the room, be it an individual welcome or to just a mass greeting welcoming all new chatters.
What were your expectations? Joe's is a room of 28 slots. There's always alot of conversations going on & sometimes it's hard to keep track of everyone's comings & goings. Let's be real here. Joe's is just one room among many full of people with one purpose..to chat. So if you feel you didn't receive an appropriate greeting, what is so wrong with you taking it upon yourself to start a conversation or jump into an existing one?

III.The zine itself.
IMHO I think everyone participating in the zine is doing a wonderful job. To those who have problems/complaints about the zine, instead of complaining why don't you step up to the plate do something about it? If you would like to see something different, a certain room profiled..etc..why don't you write up the article yourself and send it in?

Anyway, that is just my take on those specific issues. I think the main thing we need to remember is..it's just a chathouse, maybe one day some of us will make close friends..but that's just a bonus *S*. But I think more people (yes sometimes myself included) need to remember that, yes there are real people behind the screen with real feelings, and have their own problems going on & we should respect that, but remember also, this place exists so we have somewhere to go to "escape" if you will, our daily lives. It's a place to meet others from around the world, maybe learn something new..but in general it's a place to have fun.
So with that said..happy chatting *S*
if you wish to reply to anything i've stated here..please email them to zineocey@hotmail.com

The regulars of Mardi Gras would like to invite you to visit their newly linked to homepage at http://members.tripod.com/~mardigraschat/index.html. Take a look, it's not just about the chatters.... but also about Mardi Gras the event and is very interesting!! Be sure to sign their book too.
Offended?
Kimber™

From information that we've been receiving, many of the rooms are being plagued with offensive chatters.. This really isn't anything new, unfortunately it happens all of the time. This condition does seem to worsen while school is out over the summer months.

From The Chathouse® Rules! (and Terms...)

2.Profanity; gender, sexual-preference, religious, ethnic slurs; or unwelcome overtures of any kind to other chatters will not be tolerated. The friendly attitude in the Chathouse® will not be compromised. If you are being rude to other chatters, you may find yourself kicked out of the room and you will be reported to your domain administrator.

These forums are meant to be places of civility, decency and enlightened cordial conversation.

Unfortunately, some will ignore this notion, you need not be among them. In our "Public Access" rooms, you can check an abuser's domain and find the administrator of offenders by checking with an InterNIC Who is lookup. In our "Members Only" rooms, you may report abusers by sending E-Mail to abuse@chathouse.com abuse@chathouse.com using "cut" and "paste" to document the offensive behavior.

As an experienced chatter, I can tell you the faster and easiest way to put an end to an offensive chatter.. *G* Make a post in public addressed to the offender, telling them that the behavior is not appreciated and will not be tolerated. Tell them that they are going on ignore and that anyone else in the room who insists on battling with the idiot or copies and pastes the remarks made by the idiot will join the idiot on ignore. *CLICKING* then mark the ignore public and private boxes next to the offenders name.

You no longer see either private or public posts by the offender.. If the others in the room post *click* in public and mark there ignore buttons as well, the offender soon tires of only talking to themselves.. Not getting the attention that they seek and they leave. End of problem.. *G*

Dad
I am overwhelmed with the thoughts I have of Dad,
But to have had him in my life, I am more than glad.
When needing to think, I take walks across the land,
Sometimes I wish I were young and Dad was still holding my hand.
At times I feel everything is falling apart,
But I have Dad's love deep in my heart.
Gary wasn't quite two when we lost Dad,
He remembers him quite well and still gets very sad.
When Dad went home to Jesus, Travis was only five,
He has qualities in him that will keep Dad's memory alive.
I remember how he got on the floor to play with my boys,
They would rather play with Grandpa than any of their toys.
When going through troubled times I wish Dad was here,
Then, as when I was a child, he could wipe every tear.
When reminising of hiim, sometimes I still get sad,
I have so much love in my heart for my Father, my Dad.

~Chat Dominatrix~

A reply to my "the lack of pictures of ~Real~ chatters" article

I guess I want to provide a different spin on posting pics or more like not posting a pic..

No matter how beautiful the outer package is, the person can have an "ugly" soul. I prefer to be accepted or not accepted based on the "real person" that I am and not by the outer packaging. It's my choice to decide when and who I let see the outer package.

A real email, from a real chatter, leads me, and the subject of ~real~, to a higher level. Real Life, we all know, to some degree, that we will never truly know all there is to know about another chatter in here, no matter how close we are to them. We may know many things that their real life friends and/or family don't, but then, so may their real life family and friends say about us! Point here being, what someone chooses us to know is just that, Their choice! There is an unwritten law within the chat world, and that is you do not cross that "real life" line unless invited! So for those of you out there that I have been hearing about, digging for phone numbers or addresses or for family members or any and all other information on chatters. For what purpose? To satisfy some ignorant childish anger you can't control, or some jealousy you can't get over, or whatever the reason or excuse you tell yourself to help you sleep at night. You do NOT use personal info on another chatter to hurt their personal life, nor do you post it in public chat or forum! Remember once that line is crossed, it's gone, FOREVER and the road you have been traveling down now becomes a two-way street, So drive carefully, you never know when an 18-wheeler is going to be coming down that road from which you erased the line. Momma always said, what’s good for the goose is good for the gander.

NOW back to real chat life topics:

Mock Elections: I have my vote on the perfect couple, actually it's my DEMAND! It seems there is one running around the chathouse thinking they have wonderful Dominating skills, but unfortunately he seems to be caught up in some Storm. I say send him to Me! ~WEG~

The chathouse and chatters will be saying goodbye to the Chat Mistress this week! Though I didn't have the pleasure of meeting her, after reading her ~Bitch Box~ on The News page, I did hold high hopes for her around here.

Main thing is that the sun isn't as harsh here as back home... I got to the beach @ 12noon and didn'tleave till about 5:30pm and hardly got burnt... ( I was however the darkest person on the beach) go figure huh? *L*
I will be leaving here Sunday arvo and heading back to Charlotte for 1 night, then driving to Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania Monday ( 7 hours) staying the night there with a friend (Lioness) then driving another 10 hours in the pickup truck to Grand Rapids, Michigan where I will be staying a week before going to Ontario Canada.
