FantasyGirl™!!!! *VBAS* So the damn editor was slacking again, she was off jack assin' while there was still work on the zine to be done. That Bitch, who does she think she is?!?!
HAPPY CANADA DAY to the Canucks & FOURTH of JULY to the Americans!!!!!!!
Well, once again I'm hearing people bitching *like anything with the word bitch in it could be a bad thing?* about their rooms not being mentioned, well it's hard to be EVERYWHERE!!! Not to mention the fact that no matter how many rooms any of us visit you almost need to be a regular or know a regular to get any news from the room. Yet, we go read the chathouse news page and see that some of you have taken the time to email it in to them yet couldn't type ch_zine@hotmail.com in the CC or BCC line?!?! STOP BITCHING and help do something about it if it pisses you off.... Michie
Golden's Thoughts

The following excerpts are from The Help-Desk Practitioner's Handbook....by Barbara Czegel

Don't Sweat the Small Stuff -- when you sweat the small stuff you are fooled into accepting large packets of stress for insignificant events.

Empathize -- the more we try to understand an event or a person's behavior, the easier it is for us to accept it, and ignore the packet of stress it offers.

Let Go of Negative Experiences -- negative experiences are very useful. We learn from them. So, take your negative experiences, extract all the learning you can out of them, and then throw what's left away. You do not need the part that's left. It is not the slightest use to you.

Learn to Count to 10 -- take a time-out to get yourself back together. Don't pick up those stress packets right away.

Learn to Recognize Moods as Temporary States -- understanding that low moods are temporary makes a huge difference in how we feel about them. We can face the low mood knowing "you are only temporary, so I am not afraid of you. I am not really despondent; you are just making me feel this way temporarily."

Don't Go Looking For More Work -- overloading people makes them less effective. Get a Sense of Humor - Laughter is the best medicine. Alleviate stress packets with humor.

Take Responsibility -- Taking responsibility involves taking responsibility for making life happen the way you want it to, accepting the fact that life is not fair, and not blaming others for what happens to you.

Be Positive -- being positive and optimistic takes no more effort than being negative, yet the results are dramatically different.

Accept the Things You Cannot Change -- living with things you cannot change means you don't complain about them but learn to work with them, accepting them as part of the environment you must work within.

Re-define Success -- Why not re-define what success means to you? Define success in smaller chunks.

Learn to Live with Your In-Basket -- learn to live with the often unpredictable cycle of problems and requests. Learn to live with an in-basket that always has things in it.

10 Things Every American Should Know About July 4th
Submitted by LadyGreenEyes™

1. Independence Day commemorates the Continental Congress's formal adoption of the Declaration of Independence on July 4, 1776. However, it was not declared a legal holiday until 1941.

2. Fireworks were made in China as early as the 6th century. The Chinese used their pyrotechnic mixtures for war rockets and explosives.

3. Uncle Sam was first popularized during the War of 1812, when the term appeared on supply containers. The U. S. Congress didn't adopt him as a national symbol until 1961.

4. Did you know there are many precise rules for taking care of our national banner? And speaking of flag traditions, we're sorry to report that contrary to legend, there is no historical evidence that Betsy Ross sewed the first flag.

5. John Adams wrote to his wife: "It ought to be solemnized with pomp and parade, with shows, games, sports, guns, bells, bonfires and illuminations from one end of this continent to the other, from this time forward, forevermore."

6. It is thanks to some old New England patriots that we have our independence. Boston Patriots protested British taxes by throwing tea into Boston Harbor in the so-called Boston Tea Party in 1773. Revolution was on its way.

7. The American national anthem, "The Star-Spangled Banner", is set to the tune of an English drinking song ("To Anacreon in Heaven").

8. The Statue of Liberty symbolizes freedom around the world. And what is inscribed on the tablet she holds? July 4, 1776 (in Roman numerals).

9. Wellesley College professor Katharine Lee Bates published the patriotic poem "America the Beautiful" on July 4, 1895.

10. Corn on the cob is a summer staple and a Fourth of July tradition. Did you know that the Sweet Corn Capitol of the World is Hoopeston, Illinois?

~*I'm In a Hurry*~

Well I haven't written in awhile too busy just living life I suppose but I always am wondering why am I in such a hurry?? I don't have time to enjoy life to just walk in the moonlight or sit in the sun... just enjoy my surroundings. If I'm not enjoying life for what it is then how am I living?? Living has got to be more than working and paying bills and just getting by. I have forgotten how to fly I think at times and I wonder how many people are out there, like me, who feel the same. My inspiration this week is this life is so short and precious... Don't just live but fly; follow your heart and dreams, this is a lesson I am trying to learn myself.

TeDdY BeAr

Handles that you chat under I originally chatted under the handle mopicr (mo-pick-er)but was told that it was borderline offensive *L* So since then I have used TeDdY BeAr, TeDdY, and in the rare circumstance that things are going totally haywire... TeDdYf'nBeAr

How did you decide on the handle (s)? It was suggest for me... based on a good friend's impression of my demeanor... she said that I wasn't a "mopicr" I was "a big teddy bear" and it kinda stuck.

Location Location for me is a major thing since I seem to relocate often. My location over the last few years has been Iowa, Kansas, Nebraska, Texas, Colorado, Texas again, Virginia, Korea, Colorado again, Maryland, New York, and for the next short while I am living la vida loca in Alabama.. *LOL*

Information on chatting.. *L* How long have you been chatting and which rooms do you normally chat in, etc... I have been chatting since the early 90's and have hatted in several different chat rooms and in nearly every room in "the chathouse" but met some wonderful people and decided to become one of the regular patrons of Joe's Diner...

Age and Zodiac Sign:Age??? Well since I am a 1964 model I am sure you can determine my age from there.. *L* and my Zodiac sign is Scorpio...

Marital StatusUmmmm.... currently single.. but involved... have been married though.. guess I've done it all in that arena...*L*

Kids I have a daughter who is definitely a "Daddy's Girl" and I am contributing to my sweetheart's 3 girls as well...

Pets YES YES YES.... will it ever end?? *L* I seem to live where everyone goes to dump their unwanted animals... so there are a number of cats that roam around here and a few dogs as well... and I have my two pure bred Shetland Sheepdogs (Sheena and Elizabeth) and thanks to a lack of education on my part and a lack of restraint on a leash law violator I ended up with two litters of puppies this spring (13 total) so I am VERY glad that I live outside of the city... and if anyone is looking for a puppy.. *hint* *L*

Profession.. I am currently serving in the US Air Force as a Television Production Specialist... great training...wonderful job... and I get to learn a lot about so many things.. I also freelance as a videographer, television editor, sound or lighting engineer...etc..etc..etc...

Hobbies and Interests My hobbies seem to change often.. but recently the consistent ones are collecting die cast cars... and my love for speed which is only satisfied by drag racing.

Music Preferences I listen to everything from eminem to Elvis and to everything from Alan Jackson to Pacabel.

Pet Peeves My BIGGEST pet peeve is people that are fake or phoney... and who use others for their own benefit without thinking of the impact it will have on their lives. I've seen way too much of that in chat because "Hey it isn't REAL" Sorry. I've met over 50 online friends and they are all VERY real and all have REAL emotions...

A favorite Motto or Quote to live by I am a firm believer in the use of humor... and I live by the motto "Don't take life too seriously... NOBODY gets out of it alive.. *L*

Anything else that you'd like people to know about you? Not that I can think of.. but if there are questions I will hold a press conference.. *L*

Changes or improvements that you'd like to see at the Chathouse™ Nothing that I can think of right now... and the entire chathouse staff has been very cooperative with any suggested changes in the past…

~Velvet~

Handles that you chat under: ..~Velvet~™ and whatever may suit me at the time..*ggls*

How did you decide on the handle (s)?: hard question, actually I own a ton of velvet things and it is my favorite fabric. That would be the simplest answer.

Location: California

Information on chatting: Joe's Diner and I have only had the luxury of chatting for almost a year now.

Age and Zodiac Sign: Oh Good! I can lie?? *LMAO* No really I am 29 going on 100 and my sign is Taurus.. Don't mess with the bull. *L*

Marital Status: I have heard about this..what is it again??

Kids: Hmm are those those "little people"??

Pets: Oh you mean my zoo?? I have a Shis Tzu (dog), a cat, 2 Dutch Dwarf bunnies and 2 fish..

Profession: I am in the oldest profession in the world..*WEL* No seriously, I am partners in 2 businesses, one is a Construction company and the other is Quixtar, a computer company.

Hobbies and Interests: I really enjoy curling up with a good novel, music of all types to relax me, going out and either riding my quadrunner, mountain bike or roller blading. I also enjoy going out to nice romantic dinners and late night dancing. I also do many different kinds of crafts and baking, gourmet cooking, and drawing.

Music Preferences: I prefer mostly relaxing (to me) type of music, whether that be classic rock, alternative, heavy metal, hip hop, country or classical. It always depends on my mood at the time.

Pet Peeves *L*: Too many, but mostly people that are very narrow-minded. Or those that their word doesn't mean a thing. I have always believed a person is ONLY as good as their word, and if their word is a lie or just plain no good, then so is that person at some point!

A favorite Motto or Quote to live by: The secret to life isn't what happens to you, but what you do with what happens to you!

Anything else that you'd like people to know about you? *S*: I am a very caring person, that is also upfront about most things about myself, and if you ever have anything that you need or would like to know, just ask me. Unfortunately though, my honesty can borderline on bluntness, and for that some mistake my meaning..*sighs*

Changes or improvements that you'd like to see at the Chathouse™: Yes, I would like to see people actually enjoying the company of the others like it just to be when I first came in, not all this fighting. I know people change and you can not control how others behave, but to see the fun, openness that first drew to there would be a relief to see a bit more often. Other then that, I think it has a lot going for it..*LOL* Ok, does this mean I am done with the Spanish Inquistion now???*ggls* Let me know if I didn't answer anything the way you were looking for ok?

We've had a GREAT INTERVIEWS so far.. *S* What can you do to top em? *G* Do I really have to "top" the other interviews??? *sly grin* Hmmmm it could happen..*LOL*

Hello from Canada!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Hi again everyone, I have had an interesting 1½ weeks in the scrub, and then a cool 6 hour drive to get to Canada.

My week and a bit in review...
The spit~roast was a night to remember *L* I got to play horseshoes, with Michie's cousins and as I had never played before I had expert tutilage and beat the locals on my first game *L* They were pissed!!!!! hahahahaha Oh Yeah... Babe was YUMMO!!!!! *S*

We went from there to the local "Bar" I use the term loosely as it is a little shack with a small Dance floor, a few basic spirits and 2 pool tables. The shotgun pellet spray above the front entrance gives it character!!! Michie says the locals call it "The Knife & Gun Club" I sorta get the picture before I even entered *looking above door*

Michie's dad was a riot!!! He has invited me back to stay if I wanna, we had a lot of fun... fishing, joking, and shit stirring the women folk... *L* (Thanks for the shooting lesson Kevin)*shakes*

Michie and I did a bit together too *L*
Went to watch her nephew riding moto-cross in a town called Muskegon, got to see these loonies doing triple, triple jumps and some more psychos doing double jumps on 4~wheelers.

The locals go to any of the 1000+ lakes to go swimming, I went in as far as my knees... *BRRRRRRRrrrrrrrrrrr*

Decided to go back to Muskegon... this time to go to a theme Park... "Michigan Adventure". This place has a really high, really long, WOODEN rollercoaster, called "Shivering Timbers", I think it should be called "Shitting ya Britches" as the ride creeked from woe to go and was one of the longest, highest, SCARIEST rides I have ever been on!!! Michie was too chicken to ride it with me so I dragged her 9y.o. niece on it to hold my hand *L*

Michie's Mum was a hoot too!!! She showed me the art of Gopher catching, stole a cup from the local diner for me and was a Fantastic hostess while I was there... *huggs*

Got here and gave Pammie her thank you gift in advance and she says the dolphin shirt will be a perfect fit and she loves it *S*
Now for Fan... I had a little stress globe for her for her Christmas pressie (Late) to give her... I think you all know that I am hopeless @ snail mail from the lack of postcards, so why should pressies be any different? ay? *L* She says the Jumper with the kangaroos and AUSTRALIA stitched in will go great with her black jeans. Now for the Birthday Pressie... She is always going on about being old and having her breasts around her knees... soooooooooooo... I got her a china figurine holding a cake with her boobs drooping into the cake icing, and a card saying pretty much the same thing *L* (Will scan the pics and post them when I can) *LOL*

Well all... I have been in Canada, @ Fantasy Girl's place now for just over 24 hours and Michie, Pammie (The Devine PQ) and I got very little sleep as we were all up night laughing, joking and bitching *L*
