DART LESSON
By: AUTHOR UNKNOWN ( I received this via email - if anyone knows the
source please let us know.)
A young man related an experience he had in a
seminary class, given by a teacher who was known for his elaborate object
lessons.
One particular day, the young seminarian knew they were in for
a fun day -- on the wall was a big target and on a nearby table were many darts.
The young seminarians were told to draw a picture of someone that they
disliked or someone who had made them angry, and he would allow them to throw
darts at the person's picture.
As each person completed their individual
drawings, the instructor attached each pictures to the target. Excitement
mounted and emotions built up as each person stepped to the front of the line
and took their turn -- some throwing with such abandon that the darts tore into
the pictures, ripping them apart. Some returned to their seats with smiles of
satisfaction at a chance of getting even. It came as a big disappointment to
those still in line when the teacher, because of time constraints, told the
remaining seminarians to return to their seats. Some were upset at missing the
opportunity to vent their anger and riddle their particular target with darts of
their own.
The instructor began removing the pictures -- and then the
target from the wall. Underneath the large target was a picture of the face of
Jesus.
A hush fell over the room as each seminarian viewed the mangled
picture of Jesus -- holes and jagged marks covered His face and His eyes were
pierced.
The teacher picked up his Bible and read these words... "In as
much as you have done it unto the least of these my brethren, you have done it
unto me" Matthew 25:40.
No other words were necessary; the tear-filled eyes
of the students focused only on the picture of Christ.
