TAURUS (April 20-May 20)
You
of all people know the power of persistence, but now it's time to put this power
to work for you instead of against you. In a more remote way, you also know the
power of setting your intentions, but I would hazard a guess that working with
this power has been a tremendous challenge. These very weeks find you at
the beginning of a major new cycle in life, a defining moment of the first
order, no matter how it seems. Not just a new page or chapter, but at the start
of a whole new volume. When you look back on this month, this season and
this year, you will see the current, absolutely inevitable beginning for what it
was -- but now you must, in this moment, work to recognize it for what it
is. Clear your mind, look at yourself, decide what you want, and make
those critical decisions.
GEMINI (May 21-June 20)
The past month
or so was not an especially gentle ride, but you were up for the
challenges. And the long-term celestial setup has you being hurled over
major obstacles a few times a year, including right around your birthday.
You have, in these times, a rare opportunity to look straight into the face of
not only what terrifies you the most, but also what has the greatest power to
help you, and demonstrate who and what you are at your best. Of all
"subjects" in life, people have the greatest difficulty with relationships; but
relationships are nothing less than the totality of life, no matter how we may
try to slip out of that. Yet you are under no obligation to continue any
association that does not work, and you surely have a right to demand more of
the ones that are on the borderline.
CANCER (June 21-July 22)
Your comfort
zone is no longer comfortable. Borrowing from the crab metaphors that
actually work quite well for you, you've grown too big for your shell.
This could be your physical home or your sense of self; your job or your circle
of friends, but it's something familiar that is no longer pleasant, and which
you are ready to change. There's a moment after hard-shelled sea creatures
molt in which they're exceptionally vulnerable, but in your case I would remind
you that this is a state of mind that suits you quite well. Stick to what makes
you a little edgy, and you're heading in the right direction. Just be a
bit wary of the company you keep. Stick to gentle, playful souls, work
with the vulnerability of others, and you're in for some delightful human treats
as this month and this year evolve.
LEO (July 23-Aug. 22)
By now, you
should be clearly seeing the form that your life has been taking for the past
two to three years. Your current shape is not necessarily the final one,
but certainly what you will notice presents a picture of the direction of
improvement and some features of the redesigned process of being and relating
that you've so carefully designed. Part of this process, you'll see with
any luck, involves making sure that change itself is continuous. Getting
this far was not easy, but you need -- for a time -- to take the secure
foundations you have laid for granted, and set about the decorations, the
furnishings and the artwork that will adorn the new architecture of your
life. That means people, it means activities, it means the plants and
animals you live with, and more than anything, the freedom to experiment with
what you want and explore who you are.
VIRGO (Aug. 23-Sep. 22)
Don't worry if
professional matters seem to slide in reverse, or come to a halt. It's
purely an illusion. There is no way you are on the wrong track, though the
best opportunities, the ones you've been working toward and waiting for, may be
just a bit in the future. Events of this month will present important
lessons in how others perceive you, and how you think they perceive you (there
is a bit of a gap between the two, and it causes you a lot of unnecessary
grief). Plus, I have learned from careful study of the planet Chiron's
themes and missions that there is not a Virgo on the planet who does not suffer
from some kind of learned inferiority complex. I have no statistical proof, just
a lot of experience. "Inferior" is the very last thing you are, unless in
your language it's a synonym for intelligent, inquisitive and intrepid.
LIBRA (Sep. 23-Oct. 22)
You can only
give what you've got. And it seems like you're in quite a giving mood: to
feed the hungry (of spirit and of body), to share your pleasure and to boost
others upward and onward in their journeys. Indeed, all your ambition may
be to nurture the aspirations of others, and for doing this in our petty, greedy
world, you have my deepest gratitude. This process, by the miracle of
grace, will plant the seeds that move you with toward your own
destinations. Yet now, there is no rush -- in fact, delays in your
personal affairs will prove beneficial, even if it seems you're missing
opportunities. Your prospects for success will only grow, blooming like
those early summer flowers that last all through the season.
SCORPIO (Oct. 23-Nov. 22)
Just what is
the difference between God, on the one hand, and lust, desire, passion, and the
sweet urge to ravage the babe(s)/boy(s) of your hottest dreams? I would propose
that this is the single most important philosophical question of our times. For
the moment sex becomes foul or "ungodly," all that is evil becomes "good," and
we slip into a state of utter moral chaos. Your job in these early days of
this most adventurous summer is to expose the secret that the human instinct
toward pleasure and satisfaction is truly beneficial, and to teach the faith of
liberation to those who are imprisoned in the religion of guilt. This will
require more mental and verbal openness than you're accustomed to expressing,
but it will be worth the dare, for you and the universe around you.
SAGITTARIUS (Nov. 23-Dec. 21)
What is
real, and what is not? This is a good question for you to be contemplating
these days, because that which is real is of enormous value to you, while that
which is not can distract you in serious ways. And while there is time,
you might as well not assume that there is time to waste. Your
inclinations need to be in the direction of materializing; of bringing one or
more of your abundant ideas into formation on this Earth. Too often, we
defer to the future that which needs to be done now, which can only be done now,
and which would benefit us today. It is true that to dare to be real, you
would need to confront the person you've finally become after so much wondering,
wandering and enforced growth. That means letting go of all ideas of who
you were, because they are simply no longer true. Sooner or later you will
get around to this; it may as well be sooner.
CAPRICORN (Dec. 22-Jan. 19)
Have you
ever noticed that we tend to be one way alone, and another in association with
other people? It is not subtle. Some people put on the whole good boy or nice
girl routine when they are in one kind of company (such as their boss, spouse or
partner) and become shameless hussies when they are alone or among
friends. There are countless other examples of how we amend our opinions,
believes and especially our needs depending on who we're with, and this creates
deep fractures and divisions in our mental structure. The theme of the
summer, as reported in startalk, is integrating all of these different selves
with the real you. Strive for consistency. See what it feels like to
be the very same person with your lover, your friends, your boss and your
parents. Scary? Well, most people think it's really scary to be
free.
AQUARIUS (Jan. 19-Feb. 18)
Let the dust
settle, and take a deep breath: it's over. I imagine you're a little shaken up,
for there is no aspect of your life that has not been rolled over, looked under,
reconsidered, deconstructed and (hopefully) put back together, and much of it
has happened a lot faster than you would have preferred. This has left
you, I am sure, wondering where you stand with people you may not have been
willing to recognize were so important to you, and given you pause to consider
whether you've really making progress. Think of it this way, though: all
progress really beings right now. Call the rest preparation. Call it
necessary exploration, inevitable change, or acts of God. You are on far
more solid ground than you've realized, and what you've been through is
testimony to your strength and endurance.
PISCES (Feb. 19-Mar. 20)
We are told
over and over again that ease is bad, that it's false and that the only real
proof of success is difficulty, which means hardness. You are not hard, and
there is no way that a hard life can suit you, and neither is it an appropriate
vehicle to bring into reality the unusual potential right within your
reach. Consider that every problem or task you may face is really a puzzle
that can be broken down like a mathematical equation, and if you do so before
commencing your labors, you will save enormous effort. You will not
accomplish less; to the contrary, looking at the world somewhat mathematically
will ensure that you achieve far more of what you really are really intending,
and why not? Struggle, if it appears, is a sign that you need to
reconsider your methods. Gentleness in any form is a sign that your
perception of the universe is based on real ides about yourself; gradual
progress is the sure sign of success.
For the
Faithful
The Jupiter-Saturn conjunction, exact May 28th in Taurus,
is far from over. In fact, it has just begun, as we commence this 20 year
cycle that takes us to the Winter Solstice in the year 2020. That may seem
like a long time, but those who remember 1980 would do well to consider how
quickly the time has gone: and to consider, at once, how much and how little has
happened in that time. These will be pivotal years for the planet Earth,
its inhabitants, its civilizations and its species not represented in the United
Nations. The questions stand in blazes: What do we envision for the
world? What do we envision for ourselves? What if we were to live,
for a time, free from the choke-holds of our (so often false) fears and
expectations, and cast our vision outside the closets of our petty concerns?
What if everything we claimed to want from the world, we set about to
give? What if we viewed history as our personal project? Think on these
things for the next 20 years, and please take action, and do get back to me with
your results.
