Another member of the under 16 side that won the European Championships in 1998. He was a regular in Don Givens' under 21 squads, and Jim Goodwin is still learning his trade in club football.
After a number of season's in Celtic's youth teams (including one first team appearance), the Tramore-born defender was released by the club in the summer of 2002 though he quickly found a new club, joining Stockport County.
Goodwin played in the U21 Squad that beat Finland by a goal to nil on August 20th 2002. On August 21st, he came on as a substitute for Ian Harte on the 83rd minute to win his first Senior Cap
