Well judging by the scoreline Germany are a force to be reckoned with. But we knew that, and we also knew that they were favourites to top the group. However an 8-0 demolishing of the Saudis' does make our job a little harder next Wednesday 05 June.
With goals from Klose (being hailed in some quarters as "the new Gerd Muller"), Jancker, Ballack (injured but playing through the pain barrier), Linke, Schneider, the Saudis could not get into the game as the Germans continued to peg them back in their own half.
But the Saudi Arabia game on the 11th should be easier than anticipated, hoping that their morale wont be too great. Its just hard to believe that they beat Iran to qualify without play-off?
